Wed Jan 28th GT: Charlotte Vs Portland 10:00pm

Post#1 » by BigSlam » Wed Jan 28, 2009 4:40 am

No Crash, coming off a huge double OT win, just got to hope our emotions can carry us over the line.

BOBCATS Vs BLAZERS

Starting Line Ups:
as listed by Yahoo's NBA depth chart

Slam's Key To Winning:
Getting their bigs in foul trouble last time went a long way in helping. Attack the rim at all costs.

Slam's Key Match Up:
EO50 Vs Oden. Get our big fella involved early and often.

Slam's Danger Guy:
Rudy. Not sure we have anyone who can contain him. I'd like for that to be Shannon's job and his only focus. When Rudy is in, Shannon is in.

And for those of you I know wont be happy this isn't a traditional SM15 creation:

You see Steve come back, and you make a game thread for the next game DURING the current game?

Hmm...

I actually make them in advance and save them as a draft. I like to get them up a day or so before the game to generate interest. We have a back to back and I plan on going to bed as soon as the Lakers game is done.

Hope all of this meets with your approval?

We all appreciate the gts Slam. I personally love having them up 24 hours before the next match. Pretty sure Ham is just having fun with the idea of you getting defensive in regards to SM's return. I thought it but didn't type it because I thought it could go over poorly.

You think these master pieces just "happen"?

There's brainstorming sessions, focus groups, story boards, R&D, workshops and an entire copy writing and graphics team that goes into these.

They are usually months in the making.

I just sat on the couch and watched the game last night and I am gassed.

I can only imagine how our boys are feeling! Hope we can pull off an unlikely win (coming off a double OT and without Crash) but will just be proud of the boys for hanging in there to be honest.

What's the thoughts for the line up? I'm thinking Shannon at the 2 and Raja at the 3?

Possible.

Since Brown gives honorary starts to players in their hometown, maybe Morrison gets one since it's the closest he's going to get to Washington and his family?

No joke. I didn't even move last night and I'm exhausted today.

Hope our guys can come out with some sort of energy.

I think Ammo is going to have to show up tonight if we have a chance at this game...Also interested to see how Shannon plays tonight with Crash out.

I've sat with this quickreply open for like 5 minutes trying to think of ways to spin my thoughts. Our chances were bad without much of a bench going into a b2b, but without wallace they look quite bleak. I'll be hoping for the best.

I was thinking to myself the other day, how I might experiment with bringing Wallace off the bench and starting Morrison. Yes, I know it's crazy. But I figured that might be the only way to get him to feel a part of this team, and stop being so timid.

With what's happened with Wallace, and as someone said, Brown's preference to start random players because they are playing in front of their hometown fans, maybe this could be the chance that Morrison needs?

I don't know. But he's obviously too timid out there, and only playing a few minutes here and there, knowing he'll probably get yanked if he makes a mistake, can't help what already looks to be a fragile persona. I hope we start Morrison, and actually run plays for him, and see how he performs. It's obvious that playing him as a spot up shooter is not working, so let's try to involve him in the offense the same way we do Wallace.

It can't hurt. Well, it can. But we need to find out sooner or later if we can get anything from the guy.

Interesting post Ham. I say go for it with Ammo, if ever there was a time to see if he can turn it around, I guess this is it. I'm feeling really pessimistic right now, because I don't envision the team snagging too many wins without Wallace, he was too vital to jump starting a stagnant offense. Also, since losses seem quite likely, may as well get something positive out of them.

It is tough enough to play back to back nights on the road, especially when the first night was a double OT. Now with Crash out, and still no DJ, I dont see how we win tonight. It would take a heroic effort. Perhaps DJ comes back a couple days early to help with scoring? We sure could use his scoring tonight.

We can always hope that Roy stays in his funk against us. Don't know what it is but he just can't ever get it going from the perimeter when we play. Still even that might not help with everything stacked against us like it is.

Tell you who might really benefit by Crash being down................return of the Mac?

I personally think that Daiw should move to the 3 and Howard start at the 4. Unless LB want's to seriously send a message to McMay and play Lex in front of him, he'd at least have a back up at each spot.

Felts - Singletary
Bell - Shannon
Diaw - Ammo
Howard - McMay - Lex
EO50 - Diop - Nazzy

Could the big boy lace them up tonight?
