I seriously went through the list of names and found this quite difficult.
Then I decided on Rudy Gay as obviously he can't be any good otherwise we would have drafted him.
Or Sean Marks, simply because he is a New Zealander

Eddy Curry. He wouldn't produce either but his contract is much worse.

"salaries disregarded."
take contracts out of the equation. would you still rather have ammo over curry? just curious.

OK, I'll give this a solid attempt.
Players with less PER than Ammo who play actual minutes:
Chuck Hayes
Bruce Bowen
Mike Taylor
Jason Hart
Ricky Davis
No question Bruce Bowen and Chuck Hayes bring defense that puts them above Ammo. But... I guess I'd rather have Ammo than the other 3. I'm not even sure I know who Mike Taylor is.
Players who have slightly more PER and don't obviously bring defense/youth (i.e., Donte Green, Quentin Ross):
Brian Scalabrine
Sean Marks
Matt Carroll (heh... pretty sure we'd do this one)
Greg Buckner
Yakhouba Diawara (might want him over Ammo though....)
Jared Jeffries (ditto...)
So... that's 6 guys! I'm sure there are a lot of crappy backups who he's better than too.

How did I miss that?
Yeah, Curry pretty much disgusts me and Ammo hasn't quite reached that for me yet. The issues aren't all Ammo's fault (he should NEVER have been drafted that high nor should he have been drafted by us) but they are with Curry.

This question is very simply talent and age in consideration... not past history. The only reason that I wouldn't take Curry over Ammo is if I thought Curry was a team cancer, or if he would sexually harass another player. But... sadly, I think I'd still do it.

Guys what if Ammo is reading this? This topic ain't right and we can't blame Ammo for sucking if he is not partying or slacking it's the FO's fault.
Since I choose to respond though I can't think of anybody I take Ammo over except Kieth Van Horn but he is retired.

Unless Van Horn was an expiring Contract. Then, I'd make that trade also.

I'd do that trade everyday. KVH is an expiring..
Why can't we blame Ammo for sucking?? No one else makes him suck. He doesn't contribute defensively (his fault), he plays scared (his fault) and plays like the ball is a hand grenade about to explode (his fault). He plays like a mangina and still gets 15 mins per game.

I agree with you on the last two, but I don't know if the lack of defense is really his fault. He doesn't have the physical tools to be able to be an adequate defender, let alone a great one. I think he try's, but he fouls so much because he can't stay in front of his man. He definitely needs to rebound better. Just not nearly agressive enough on the boards.
Adam should just put on 40 pounds and become a banger.

If he was a power forward, he would get plenty of three point looks. Unfortunately, Adam is anything but a sharpshooter.

Because he doesn't have talent that goes over to the next level. He should have been a college legend and no more. It was our fault for picking him 3rd and bad scouting and people looking at stats to much that got him drafted so high.
He wasn't meant to be in the nba. He would be a great euro player.
If people did there homework and would have put it together this guy is not physically gifted enough to hang in the nba then we wouldn't hate him because we wouldn't have picked him.
If your at your job and your lets say an intern and the owner decides to make you the president of the company and you suck at it, it's not your fault.
You know the original question is is there anybody you wouldn't want over Ammo and the answer is surely no.
Thinking about it I think myself at 25 would be more productive in the nba then Ammo.
What I don't understand is SteveMorrison. What do they like about him? Most players have something likeable about them good players and role players who are fan favorites have something like Ronny Turiof and his hustle but why does anybody like Ammo. I keep asking and Steve hasn't answered.
James Forrest was a great college player about 10 years ago maybe one of the best at his time but he never got drafted because his game couldn't translate into the pros. People should have known that about Ammo.
Even JJ Reddick was picked at 14 but people thought of a Steve Kerr type to come in and hit some 3's in the end of games. What were people expecting from Ammo?
SF is the hardest position because the guys are not only just strong and big but there athletic.
Everybody should have known. I did. Didnt you?

Come on! To say Adam is not an NBA player is ridiculous. Yes he does not fit in here and is having a bad year. He is also coming off a severe knee injury He's got zero confidence and is trying to learn a new system. Give the guy a break. Do I wish we had taken Rudy Gay? Of course. But Adam is a decent NBA player and will eventually find his place in the league.

Well now that's another caveat (and I know I didn't miss this one in the OP!)...but in answer to that then it would be pretty much anyone over an unathletic white guy playing the wing. Common sense should tell you that the odds of that working are terrible these days with the 3 spot having some of the most athletic guys in the league.

Adam would be better of working on the mo, growing long hair, whacking on those 40 pounds and becoming the 2nd coming of Ron Jeremy.. That would be the closest he'd ever come to putting a ball into a hole.
Looking back over past drafts, and at the number 3 slot I get a little depressed... Mayo, Horford, Deron, Gordon, Melo, Dunleavy, Gasol, Miles, Baron, LaFrentz.... and we get stuck with Mangina Man Morrison (I'll now refer Morrison as Triple M instead of WOFTAM). I wouldn't even class Triple MMM as a cheap mans Dunleavy.
The FO and scouts really screwed the pooch in 2006.

I won't say that Morrison isn't an nba player. Right now, I don't think he is, but he just came off a severe injury and has no confidence. In his rookie season he had some very nice moments. No way he should have been the third pick, though. He could work his ass off for the next 10 years and he still won't remotely be able to live up to the third pick.
But he or the Bobcats can't worry or complain about that now....
To become a productive nba player he needs to become much more consistent with his shooting. Morrison is somewhere between the thrid and fifth best shooter on this team, which isn't saying much. And I still think he needs to bulk up. Him at small forward is not going to work. Most of all, he needs to get his swagger back.

I wouldn't trade him for any player that sucks and has no hope of improving at all. At least there is some hope that Morrison might improve, even though that's a small hope.
I was just thinking today, even though I probably won't post it since there's already this thread and people have been hard on him...is Morrison the biggest bust of all-time? I'm not prone to overexaggeration when it comes to something like this, but I think he has to rank up there. He has been a complete failure at the NBA level. Even people like Kwame had some redeeming characteristics, or at least could contribute in some way.
