Bosh Wont Re-Sign With Toronto?
Steven A Smith (who is an idiot) is saying that Bosh has already told Colangelo that he wont be re-signing with Toronto
http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=3877144
Wonder if Colangelo is as high on Diaw as DiAntoni is said to be? Wonder if we could put something together like Diaw, Nazzy and a pick to get Bosh in a S&T type deal like the Wolves did with KG?
Felts or DJ, Bell (or insert upgraded SG here), Crash, Bosh and EO50 would be amazing.

That would indeed by an amazing deal if we could pull it off. Love the idea of Bosh on this team.

Re: Bosh Wont Re-Sign With Toronto?
IF, and that's a HUGE IF, we could obtain Bosh, he would still leave the team in 2010 for a glamor market. Miami, Dallas are his targets (Miami for the sun, fun, and D Wade. Dallas cause he's a Texas guy). NO WAY they don't land him over the Cat's.
Why can't some homegrown North Carolina player want to stay and play for us without savaging our salary cap. Oh, wait a minute, Felton is a Carolina guy (South Carolina counts)! But, I just read that he want's too much money and we can't afford to keep him if we wanted to. Oh well, no hometown discount here.

I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I was thinking about this same scenario on Friday and I came up with a similar trade. I said earlier I don't wanna trade Felts anymore but I'd go so far as to give them Diaw, a pick and either Felts or DJ for Bosh. Getting a legit star on this team would be worth it and the thought of pairing Mek and Bosh together is just sweet. We'd just need to start finding ways to tweak....strike that get a bench and find an eventual replacement for Raja which are problems we have now anyway. We'd just be missing another draft pick but so far they have proven not so useful to us.

I was thinking the same chabber (giving them Felts or DJ) but with Jose, would they have a need for either of them?
I'm thinking it would probably take Crash?
Diaw and Crash for Bosh and Moon?

Guys I love NC but it's underrated. People don't look at it as a big market or a great place like the Heat and Knicks and Lakers.
Sorry but this thread is a waste of time.

Re: Bosh Wont Re-Sign With Toronto?
It's only a waste of time if we were talking about trying to sign him in free agency. In doing a trade we'd at least have his services for a short time with the possibility of winning over his trust that we could build a competent team. Are the chances slim? Definitely. Is a trade possible, probably not as I'm sure the Raptors would have much better offers from more interesting towns than ours. Fun to imagine. Yes, and that's all I'm concerned about right now.
I figured they'd take DJ if given the choice between he and Felts because of his rookie contract and it'd be easier to play him as a backup behind Jose. They could use Felts at the 2 sometimes if they wanted but his contract situation may be something they wouldn't wanna deal with.
I think if we give up Diaw and Crash we'd definitely lose the chance to resign him because we'd just be two thin all around on talent.

Comeon, lets be real. Colangelo is an overrated, overhyped GM but he isn't going to trade Bosh, their only player keeping them from being 8-40 right now. They won't trade him next season either - they'll hope for a sign and trade if he really doesn't want to stay there.

True - although a good draft this year along with the clever signings might change that? Couple that with trading Felts or DJ in a secondary move to add talent (say Felts for Josh Howard?)
DJ - Bell - Howard - Bosh - EO50
Back up vet PG - draft pick - Moon - Howard - Diop

Re: Bosh Wont Re-Sign With Toronto?
What an interesting development! How tantalizing! And how about..."Close but no cigar!"
We could put a deal together, but we gut the team in the process. Bosh is one of those talents that make you drool and wish for more. But after giving it some thought, the timing of this stinks for the Bobcats. Not enough talent in the cupboard to put a sweet deal together and still keep what we need to make a push forward in the standings. Or we could opt to give up Raymond + Crash, or Diaw + Crash, or Okafor + DJ. Let's just say that at this point I think that we'd be throwing away our core for someone who may turn out to be a one year wonder for us.
And if we have to give up Crash or DJ or Okafor, are we really a better team? Toronto sure would be with any two of our current guys! Tell you what, if we do it like we would do Boozer in a trade- bring him in SIGNED TO LONG-TERM CONTRACT for Bosh, and I'll give my blessing- reluctantly for now.
Yes, No, Yes, No, Yes, No, well maybe.

This is the moment where we lament taking Donuts McMay at 13 in 2005 and Ammo at 3 in 2006. Again!

I'm not a big Howard fan but that is a nice secondary move you thought up Slam. I like the way that team looks. Pretty good from deep and it's still a decent defensive unit.

If there's a contract involved, I'll give them damn near anything for Bosh. If it took Crash+Felts+a pick or whatever, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Re: Bosh Wont Re-Sign With Toronto?
The real question is not would we make a deal, but what would they want to take off our roster for Bosh. Bosh is a guy you build around... I'm thinking they would want Okafor.

Re: Bosh Wont Re-Sign With Toronto?
Obviously him opting out would have to be decided before we give up a nice package...can he even be re-upped before this summer?
They would want Mek, plus probably Diaw over Crash. Just like we would want to pair him with Bosh (
) they'd want to put him beside Bargnani and get a wing which they also sorely need. If we could keep Mek and either Boris or Crash plus get him under a new deal I'd be all for it.
I'm with Rich tho; from us I think it'll start and end with Okafor.

Well, if Bosh would stay with us, for me, it would be bye-bye Okafor.
I really don't see why Miami hasn't said "okay, here's Beasley and whatever else you'd like to take not named Wade or Chalmers." And maybe they have and Colangelo said no. I think that would be one of the better packages they could get for Bosh but also Beasley seems like the type of dude who needs to be in a happy situation to become a superstar, and I don't know that moving to Canada would qualify as a happy situation for him.

This thread is a joke. He will walk in 2010 if he comes to this team.
Bosh will go to a major market. If Toronto is to small for Bosh, which is the 4th largest city between Canada and the United States, then you have Chicago, New York and LA.

It's not about TO being too small for Bosh - in fact he loves the town. Being in TO didn't stop him from getting any endorsement deals, in fact, if anything he had the lions share up in TO because he is the man up there.
Assuming he would only go to LA, NYC and ESPECIALLY Chicago is a joke.
Chicago hasn't been a dominant location or attractive destination since Jordan left.

I've always been impressed that Chicago is often among the teams listed as possible free agent destinations.
Go look up the guys they've signed since MJ retired the first time. The "best" guys that have brought in are either role players like Ron Harper or overpaid guys like Ben Wallace. Unless of course its their own free agent.
I really can't ever think of a year where I was suprised that someone so talented signed with the Bulls.
