Well, it looks like people's wishes are coming true.

It would appear that we have just traded Ammo and Brown for Radmanovic... Interesting... It appears it will become official on Monday once the leagues office is open.

Can't believe y'all don't have a thread for this yet. I came in to get your reaction.

From an outsider's perspective, it seems like you could have gotten more for Ammo. Just the fact that his contract expires by 2010 should get you back a better player. I guess it's depressing to realize that Vlad Rad is a better player. Maybe he'll do better under Brown, he had potential in Seattle. From a talent standpoint, you got the better player, It just seems like you could have done a little better than this.

Hate it didn't work out for Ammo in Charlotte. At least he gets traded to my 2nd fave team.

I say it's a pretty good trade for us. Opens up another roster spot? I wouldn't mind seeing another D-leaguer come in. Maybe James White or Marcus Williams, the taller one.

Wow, just found out. Morrison has been useless for us this year. Hopefully he can revive his career in LA before it's too late.

Vlad will help us more than Morrison has this year IMO. His trade value was at an absolute low... we could've had Rudy Gay damnit.

I like this a lot for the Bobcats. They weren't going to sign a big time free agent anytime soon anyway, they are competing for the playoffs and Radmonovic brings a lot of playoff experience. This trade will ultimately help the Bobcats this year.

Wait...you mean we didn't have to take a dead guy with a 5 year contract to get rid of Morrison?

My biggest beef is losing Steve, but since he'll now be with the Laker girls I guess he'll be in a better place.

Well, at least Rad will supply more depth to a pathetic bench but like Diop has a bad contract. Morrison/Brown would've brought back more as expirings if MJ hadn't guaranteed next season's option for AMMO.

I'll have to take a look at his contract, but just from a talent perspective, it seems like it's a pretty good deal. I wouldn't have guessed we would have been able to get anything of value for Morrison. He has just played so poorly.

Radmanovic should be a legitimate part of this team; he should be a pretty good bench player, and he'll be a nice fill-in starter considering all these injuries we have been having. You can't say the same for Morrison. I liked Shannon Brown, but he seems to be another one of those guys that Brown didn't like that much. The only thing bad about this trade is that it may limit Martin's minutes, who has looked somewhat promising.

How is Radmanovic's defense? I'm guessing bad? Well, either way it can't be worse than Morrison's.

I actually like this deal. I'm surprised we were able to get any NBA-caliber player for Morrison. I wish him the best; he needed a new start, and we needed to let him go instead of continually trying to make him fulfill those expectations we had for him around the draft. Unfortunately, I think LAL could be one of the worst situations for him; at least he'll be given a chance to learn and be around a winning culture, but I don't see him reaching his potential there, either.

Back to Radmanovic, he's a good 3pt/FT shooter, and when he last got around ~22mpg (something he should probably get here), he averaged 8ppg, 3rpg, 45% FG, 40% 3pt, 80% FT. I'll take that. As I said, he should be a legit contributor to this team, something that Morrison -- even though we have tried to make him -- was not.

I'm happy about the deal. I don't even care about the contract. Hell, one of the problems we've had lately is that we didn't have the contracts to trade for anyone of consequence; almost any deal we'd have to give up someone like Wallace or Richardson because no one else made anything. We're not going to be a huge player in the FA market anytime soon, so we might as well load up on talented players regardless of their contract. As long as they won't cost us one of our other better players (ie, Radmanovic is making too much, we need to cut salary, so we are going to dump Wallace), I don't mind it. I think it's a good idea.

Yeah, I'm wondering what we'll do with the extra roster spot this time? If Martin doesn't pan out, that would actually leave us with two open roster spots, on a team that has been unhealthy. It would be interesting to see what they do with that sort of flexibility.

It's somewhat surprising that Charlotte continues to add salary but Radman is a decent combo forward. Not real tough inside or quick enough to guard the perimeter but he's a dead-eye shooter who runs the floor and rebounds. He's overpaid but who isn't in today's NBA? I think he solidifies the 'Cats bench.

I'm a Wizards fan so I still have somewhat of a bad taste in my mouth for MJ as a GM but I have to say that he's made this team bigger and more versatile with the moves he's made recently. The contracts aren't great but I think Charlotte has to do everything they can to make the playoffs this year in order to finally establish some semblance of credibility. The Hawks did that last year and look at how they've been able to build on that this year. Maybe the 'Cats can do the same thing.

i am ok with the deal...morrison was insanely bad...i am shocked we got a NBA player for him...cause i wouldnt have traded for morrison for more than a bag of chips....i am going to miss shannon but LB does not seem to like the 50/50 guys oh well....i know we can use radman

Hamilton that was a good post overall (and I totally agree with it), but this in particular was excellent insight. Plus we're only talking a 3 year deal here; both Rad and Nazr will make excellent filler for trades in a year or so.

Kobe is going to eat Ammo alive.

Not that I know this for a fact, but don't go giving MJ too much credit. I'm pretty sure that LB is the mastermind behind the reshaping of our roster.

To be honest, I couldn't care less about this trade. Ammo obviously wasn't working out, I hope he finds himself in LA (although if he does have a confidence issue I'm pretty sure playing with Kobe every day chewing your arse out isn't going to help) and I hope that Vlad can give our bench some lift.

I'm just happy to hopefully be able to put the mistake that was drafting Ammo behind us now and move on.

I agree with Hamilton and Spectre completely. I like this trade. I have watched many Laker games over last season and this season. And I can recall many times when he was draining 3's for LA. He will contribute to this team in ways Ammo never did. It is a wise trade. LB, good job!

I actually think Kobe helps young players develop: Sasha, Trevor, Bynum, Farmar, etc...
