Finally makes the playoffs in GSW and gets traded to Charlotte. Finally gets healthy under a smart coach and gets traded to Phoenix. Soon realizes Championship door is shut and playoffs are in question. Must've turned to drinking after having his heart broken again.

In this case, I blame NASCAR. Let's shut down this HOF thing while we still have a chance. Only more bad things can come from this.

maybe the NBA should make all rookies come to charlotte where they can take them to tyvola rd, the spot where bobby phills wrecked his car after driving 100MPH. make them watch the news footage of that wreck for about 10 hours straight. maybe then, players, would think twice about driving like that.

Totally agree. I remember that day I was coming back from a Hearing and was driving through Charlotte just a few hours after the accident. Just tragic.

But you'll never get NASCAR off TV. Racing fans are 10x as rabid as basketball fans.

Can't remember him getting in any trouble before this....It's weird to have a guy go so long keeping his nose clean and then two quick incidents in succession. Maybe it's Phoenix? I have no explanation....

It's NEVER on my tv which is all that matters to me. The only thing I will complain about from time to time is how this stupid HOF was rammed through city council w/o a vote and no one ever brings it up as a negative and in some cases praise the fact that it's here. Yet those same people will turn around and act like the Bobcats went around to every one in Charlotte's house and stole money out of their secret piggy bank to pay for the Arena.

Anyway, I thought maybe he was on some desert highway when I first heard this but jeez. A 35 mph zone? I did that when I was 16 going 85 in a 35 once trying to make curfew. I had my sister and her friend in the backseat as well. Believe me if you knew my dad you'd have been speeding to get home too but I got pulled and luckily the cop let me go. I'd never do that now that I'm older and I especially wouldn't if I had my kid in the car.

similar story chabber. when i was 18 i was racing home from my gfs house down monroe rd, near mcalpine, at 1am trying to make curfew. got clocked doing 70 in a 45. unfortunately the cop did not let me off. that was my last speeding ticket (knock on wood). i drive like a grandma now. haha.

driving like that is something you do when you are a teen, when you are stupid. not something you do as an adult and a father, with your kid in the car.

I was just really lucky. I think he just wanted to scare me a bit and realized I was late for curfew. Plus my sister and here friend at the time were both 12 and were crying once I was pulled over. He called me back to his car which is very unusual and had me sit in the passenger seat. Out of nowhere he said I bumped something and messed up his radar and he can't give me a ticket now. Sounded fishy to me but I wasn't going to argue.

Unfortunately for me I didn't learn my lesson. I've been pulled over so many times it's embarrassing to say but I will say that the % of times I've gotten tickets is very low at 37%. The one that got me though was when I was driving to Chicago the day after thanksgiving with my friend to meet his girl. I was caught going over 85 in another state (I-40 in Tenn) which is an automatic suspended license. Took it 3 years before it processed but it got back to me. Couldn't drive for 6 months.

Now I drive like a grandma. Once I realized how stupid I was. It was easy to slow down. It's been about 7 years since my last ticket.

I'm a teen and I remember last year when I got my license, I went 120 in Mount Holly. It was exciting, but I wouldn't do it again. The only reason I did was because Mount Holly is a ghost town. In Charlotte, I wouldn't do it.

Maybe this being his 2nd offense in Phoenix since the trade will get thru to him. Maybe the bad press that he was driving this way with his child in the car will get thru to him. From all the years he has played in the NBA, and from his time in Charlotte, he was always a class act. I just hope he can right his own ship and get back to the man he seemed to have been for the prior years. I dont want to see him fall further.

I agree Slam. I fear there is something deeply troubling J-Rich and he's not handling it well. Before the trade, he was known as a very solid guy in GS and in Charlotte. Why two issues popping up so fast? Maybe the moving from city to city is getting to him, maybe marital troubles, or a variety of things. But I dont want to condemn the man. We loved him in Charlotte and he was always a good person. He needs our good thoughts, well wishes, and prayers. Not our condemnation.

So am I. CHA fans may feel differently, but twice in a couple months+endangering the lives of those in the Phoenix community and his own 3 year old son=major douchebag.

Can we get a mulligan on the trade :nonono:
