Hows it going guys? Bulls fan here, but I'm also a die hard Tar Heels Basketball fan. I am flying in from New York early tomorrow morning to attend the 12:00 game vs Gtech. I am 23 years old and ill be with my father, my 21 year old brother and my 16 year old brother for his birthday. Basically I'm looking for some kind of attraction or cool thing to do (excluding the museum) while im there for the weekend. Is there any kind of Tar Heels themed restaurant, sports bar or bar that we could go to that would be cool to see or hangout at? Or even some sort of ESPN zone type thing if theres nothing really with a specific theme. Basically anything to keep us occupied/entertained/busy after the game and would make the trip more enjoyable as well. Anything you guys have for me will be great. THanks in advance.

Chapel Hill isn't really big on attractions, it's a town that built up around the University. The planetarium is amazing and the botanical garden is really nice too, but I don't think that's exactly what you were hoping for.

There are great restaurants all up and down Franklin street, but they change over pretty frequently, so I wouldn't know what to suggest specifically. The historical favorites are Spanky's, Four Corners and Woody's Bar and Grill, but keep in mind that there are going to be ~20,000 people with similar "let's spend the afternoon in Chapel Hill" intentions, so it would be unrealistic to anticipate anything happening very quickly.

Probably too late, but my recommendation would be Top of the Hill, at the corner of Columbia and Franklin. Nothing wrong with Woody's or Spanky's, but it's probably the classier joint that I would bring my dad to. Like Walt said, the Planetarium is probably the only really cool thing to do in Chapel Hill.

Hey Guys,
I cant tell you how much I appreciate the responses. Had a great weekend, nice (expected) win. I wound up going to Four Corners, as per W. Cronkite's post, only because I noticed the name and was really looking for somethign carolina basketball oriented. The museum was amazing, made it just in before closing. And as if it wasn't enough I got some friends to muster up the money and come with me to the Duke game this sunday. I haven't been able to sit still since buying the tickets. So now I'll ask again is there anything else, for us to go to. I like Four COrners alot and were definately gonna be looking for a UNC basketball crowd so I wouldnt mind giong there again, i just thought we'd try somewhere else if there was. So if you guys could help again with more places or more information on the ones you listed and places we can go before and after to celebrate what i hope will be a win. Thanks again your a huge help.

People love Top of the Hill, like Paydro mentioned. So friends are going this time instead of family? Lots of bar spots to hit if that's your thing.

Top of the Hill probably isn't the best place to watch the game though... actually the best place is probably Buffalo Wild Wings, which is sure to have a UNC crowd, but it's not exactly a unique atmosphere.

He's going to be at the game, just trying to get an authentic UNC post game experience. Right, da bulls23?

In that case, Top O' all the way, though it'll probably be jam-packed unless it's UNC's spring break.

Yep going to the game, and I am giong with friends so were definately looking for the bar/drinking/party atmosphere lol. Looking for a UNC crowd for after the game, maybe even a little before. I cant tell you how much I appreciate this guys. So whats with the Top of the Hill place and where is it located? Another silly question, my brothers one friend is still only 20. They know if they cant get in somewhere they have to take one for the team and go on their own but do you think he'll run into a problem being underage. At four corners that didnt look like it would be an issue in the slightest.
