Gooden Available soon?

Post#1 » by Rich4114 » Mon Mar 2, 2009 4:12 am

Sounds like the Kings might be buying out Drew Gooden. He's nothing special, but I wouldn't mind seeing him be the first guy off the bench for Diaw at PF. Gooden can certainly score, post up, block shots, and rebound. I think he would fit in well with our playoff push plans. Thoughts?

Do you think he would really come here?

I doubt it, but I would like to see him in a bobcats jersey.

I'd pass.... Terrible basketball IQ.....

Not to mention the hair on my left nut looks better than the hair on Gooden's chin.. The bloke really needs to look in a mirror, and he'll ask himself the question 'WTF'..

I would be very glad to have Gooden here. His production level off the bench would far surpass Howard (who's getting zero minutes these days). He's a better rebounder than Vlad and can play a little D. But I agree with TTF that he won't come here...supposedly the Spurs want him and are the favorites.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Gooden will never never come here....Why would he choose to come off the bench for us instead of the Spurs?

This is the problem with the "Rufus" strategy of hoarding cap-space. If we have 0% chance of luring Drew-freaking-Gooden here, what are we supposed to do with cap space?

We could probably get him in the offseason. He'll probably sign with the Spurs right now though.

Joe Smith is probably a Cav. But hey, we could get Luther Head. Yay?

I haven´t seen lots of matches of Houston, but LH isn´t a PG?We have Felton,Augustin and Singletary for that position,I´d prefer another PF or a SG,Gooden won´t sign with us,cause he will prefer the Spurs, the same with Joe,how about Swift?

Luther Head is another one of the "Not a SG, Not a PG" type guards.

I honestly wouldn't mind Luther playing here. My main concern is what kind of shape hes in. Hes been hurt a good chunk of this season. (as long as its not Quincy Douby).

I might not be in the majority on this, but I would like to see Stromile Swift signed by this team for the remainder of the year. Even if its just to see if he could be a good addition for next season. I just worry with all the attention that Mikki Moore got (look up his numbers and then google all of the speculation articles about "where he might end up" after the Kings cut him). It just blows my mind. Who would've ever thought at the start of this season that the Boston Celtics would be excited about the additions of MIKKI MOORE and STEPHON MARBURY? it just blows my mind. I can't wait until Jamaal Tinsley is the great cheap pickup of 2010. Or maybe it will be Jake Voshkul?

But Stromile Swift+ Bobcats= I'm game, lets see what happens.

If we brought in someone like Stro he'd be taking potential mins that we could be giving to Lex - and for the long term development of the team, I'd rather just give that PT to Lex.

I was also a little surprised at all the excitement over Mikki Moore, to me, he and Swift are a similar caliber of player. Swift was actually clearly better earlier in his career. I don't know how much of that is left now.

I don't think he or LH would add much to the roster unfortunately. I don't expect Swift and Howard would produce so differently for the rest of this year, and I agree with slam that I'd rather give the minutes next year to Lex. As for LH, he is not better than Felts or DJ and he is really too small to play SG full-time.

We need an honest-to-god SG, so we don't have to rely on Raja so much, and we aren't forced to play Felts at the 2 for stretches when the match-up is bad.

LOL, he does look like a fool. I just figured I'd come back and check this thread out since I just saw he has sports hernia. I guess he'd be no good to our playoff run now.

Stromile Swift is available? He could definitely help us and can maybe even play some SF.

When I was looking for pictures of cephalopod Gooden, I came across an article mentioning that he was nicknamed "Recede Wallace" so he has to keep his head bald and to compensate he grows outlandish facial hair stylings.

Gooden definitely would be an addition to the team, but I think he has his sights set higher. Maybe this offseason?

The only thing sicker than Gerald Henderson's dunks is his hairline.

I'd like to see the Bobcats sign Gooden this offseason. Because I think he would be a good fit, and I don't think they'll have to spend too much to get him.

That's a hilarious picture.

In that lighting Cedric Simmmons looks like Lurch.

I like Gooden, if just for the simple fact he usually kicks out butt when we play against him. He always seems to put up like 16/13, 18/11, etc.

Its Gooden, Larry Hughes, future Bobcats hall of famer Shannon Brown, and Simmons right?
