To the greatest fans in the WORLD: would u do this w/OKC
Hello dear glorious Charlotte fans,
I was wondering if you guys would consider this following trade w/OKC this summer:
Raja Bell
Diop
for
Collison
late 1st rd. pick
Earl Watson ($6 mil expiring after next season)

So why the "hell yes" reply?
Is Diop not good? I thought he was a solid center, no?
And I too like raja. Is he showing his age or is he still playing solid?

I think Collison is much better than Diop and his contract is shorter, but nearly the same value. Diop is a solid center, but he is overpaid. Getting a first rounder makes this a good trade for us, IMO. The only reason I wouldn't like this trade is because I like Bell, but chances are he is going to be gone after next season, regardless. So, to answer your question, yes, he is still playing well.
Humble yourself.

Hell no. Raja is the only 2 guard we have on the roster, and he also plays great D. I expect us to take a 2 in the draft, but we still need depth at the position. A late first isn't all that great, and we don't care if Watson is an expiring or not. Not to mention Collison isn't great either, so none of those options are enough to want us to let go of Bell.

Like coordinator0 said, we have no one outside of Raja at the 2 spot so it would be very hard to trade him away - plus he provide vet leadership and is a big part of our defensive identity.
The trade isn't too bad value wise, but kills (very limited) balance at our SG spot.
Maybe try and work a 3 way that brings us back some SG talent?

we could fine a sg on the offseason if needed. i dont like diop so i'd be happy to get rid of him for collison. with watson we could s&t felton for a sg.

If you keep the 1st round pick, would you throw in Nenad Krstic for Nazr Mohammed

It was interesting before this suggestion, now I'd definitely interested, but we are probably asking a bit too much to include Krstic.
I'd also be interested to see if you'd be willing to chuck in the rights to either Hardin or Halperin.
It would probably be too big with too many players, but something like this does work in the checker:
Incoming
DeVon Hardin
1st rounder
Earl Watson
Nick Collison
Outgoing
Sean May
Raja Bell
DeSagana Diop

Good point. Although I do like the idea of bringing in more foreigners.

This is a fair trade IMO, but we would have a serious problem at the SG spot unless we landed one in the draft and signed a FA in the off-season for depth. I don't see how we're going to keep both Diop and Nazr's contract on this roster at the same time.

Yes but not but much. I would have to say we package the 2 picks we have this year for a younger sg. Maybe a Martell Webster type talent. Not him because he is often injured but somebody like that. The Suns are trying to cut costs so maybe Barbosa or JR Smith or somebody like that.
I think they have to trade Bell next year anyway.
Barbosa
JR Smit
Jjack would make a good 2
Crawford
Ben (although I hate a 6 foot sg)
Cook
Young
RJ (I know you hate him and he can play the 2 but no contracts for him though but he is on anyway)
Battier (probably not on the block)
WChandler
Carney
Batum
CJ Miles
We at least need a Roger Mason JR type guy.
