Massive, massive, MASSIVE game for us. This will be the "yard stick" game as far as our season is concerned.
How bad we want it will decide the outcome of this game.

I can't seem to work out the tie-breakers.....
Its seems if we win this game we also clinch the tiebreaker which would be HUGE, like winning two games at the same time as I expect CHI to be our main competition for the 8th spot,
However I only see 3 CHI/CHA games shouldn't there be 4? We played Milwaukee 4 times...I'm confused.

If we win we will clinch the tie breaker vs the Bulls...

Because of a quirk in the schedule, the Bobcats play Chicago three times this season (it's usually four for the typical conference matchup).
Since the Bobcats beat the Bulls here in their only previous meeting this season, they'd clinch a tiebreaker over Chicago if they can close the deal in the first game back from the long trip.

Maybe it would end in a coin toss like "the other" time?

E4- These "scheduling quirks" exist in every team's schedule. The only division in the Eastern Conference where we play a fixed number of games every year is our own Southeastern Division. The Central and Atlantic Division teams are rotated - 3 games for 2 years and 4 games for 3 years- in 5 years of schedules. Next year it could be Indiana or Milwaukee. Look back at our year one schedule for a better idea of which teams we get only 3 times. Hope this helps!

I'm actually a little upset Deng isn't playing tonight. The two games i've been to, he hasn't really done much. Gordon is the guy that always worries me.
Edit: Now I see Deng avged 26 in the last 3 against us. I'm shocked. I sometimes wonder what game I watch. Off to the game.

Thanks for the explanation Seaz....
I've been watching NBA basketball for 15-20 years and I never knew that. I guess if I had just done the math I would've seen that 82 games is not enough to play every conference team 4 times.

Let's hope this isn't true and Bell can play tonight...
We are going to need him as we seriously lack depth at the SG position.
From
http://blogs.charlotte.com/inside_the_nba/Charlotte Bobcats shooting guard Raja Bell might miss tonight's game against the Chicago Bulls, due to a strained right shoulder that has troubled him a couple of games.
Bell injured the shoulder sometime on the West Coast trip. He didn't scrimmage at practice Monday and left shootaround early this morning, telling the Observer he wasn't sure whether he'd be well enough to play.
Coach Larry Brown said he doesn't know who he would start if Bell can't play. If Bell can play, even in a limited fashion, Brown might start him primarily for defense on Chicago Bulls guard Ben Gordon. Asking Cartier Martin to guard Gordon for long stretches could be costly.

Gordon always kills us....
I was really interested to see if Raja could stem the tide, we really need him. In the past, Jrich/Carrol always got beat up bad and the only guy who could stay with him at all was Ray, and even he wasn't great.

That is very bad news.
The Bulls back court is smallish. Maybe he goes with DJ at the point on Rose (who he lit up last time) and Felts on Gordon?
Problem with that is that it leaves Singletary backing up the point - which worries me. At least we don't play again unti next Friday so the guys might be able to log big mins.
GOT to win tonight.

Regarding the tie breaker.
If Bobcats win tonight then they will hold the tie breaker against Bulls even if Bulls win the last meeting.
Bobcats have 2 chances/2 tries to win just 1 and they win the tie breaker.
Regarding the seeding, it goes like this:
1 - Tie Breaker (team a vs team b)
2 - vs Division record (if in the same division)
3 - vs conference record (if in the same conference).
So in Bulls vs Bobcats it would be either 1 or 3.
Regarding tonights game: It's a HUGE game for Both teams. Bulls have been playing pretty darn bad on the road especially after the trade and with shuffling rotation. Gordon and Rose have been the ONLY 2 Consistent Bulls all year. If Bulls have any chance winning, both need to play well. Gordon will score no matter what - unless he is in foul trouble.
From bobcats, 1 guy I fear the most is Okafor, he usually plays really well against us but last couple of months both Noah and Tyrus have been playing like we thought they should. But Okafor does put intimidation on our players and they start shooing more jumpers than ever and lose.
I just hope it's a fun watchable game and not a free throw parade game.
