Best Bobcats in order

Post#1 » by Dexmor » Thu Mar 5, 2009 2:23 pm

Just want to see were you guys are at compared to me

1.Ray
2.Mek
3.Diaw
4.Wallace
5.DJ
6.Bell
7,Radman
8.Diop

The rest doesn't really matter.

As I look at the roster we have 8 starters but no allstars and were this good. Imagine if we had a star or if Mek and Felton truely broke out?

I would have Diaw at #1 if he rebounded. He rebounds like a sg/sf. He only gets 5-6 a game. That's terrible for a 4. If we didn't have Wallace we would be screwed.

yeah, we need criteria...

wallace and diaw are the best players, imo, but okafor (and to a lesser extent, felton) is probably more valuable because he what he brings to the team that no one else can.

Y'all bunch of chickens!

Knee jerk would say that we could probably do without Crash (never heard THAT before) as his stats aren't all that great during our win streak/since he came back. If I'm compiling a list it'd be overall and who's most important to our team (not who's most valuable in the league)...which is:

Diaw
Crash
Mek
Felton
Raja
DJ
Diop
Vlad
...
everyone else.

Diaw makes the engine run.

I could easily put Raja up there in Mek territory, mainly because I believe Raja has brought vet experience, leadership and a newfound "attitude" in regards to our defense. Diaw makes the offense flow but IMO Raja holds them all accountable.

Either way I think all the starters are real close.

If we're going by most important to our team I agree wholeheartedly with Spectre's list with Vlad and Gana swapped. I find it remarkable that Crash comes back and we go on a winning streak but because he's only been having well rounded instead of phenomenal success he's become less important to some...

You guys don't need a defenition for best. Most valuable to our team or who is just a flat out better player. However you want to list it. Only 1 person gave a list. Well actually 2 if you count Walt.

If I'm basing it as most valuable to us winning a game, I go:

1.Ray
1.Mek
3.Diaw
4.Wallace
5.Bell
6.DJ
7,Radman
8.Diop

Yes, that's 2 1's. Whenever Felton and Okafor play well we win. If they play like crap or couldn't play at all, we probably don't win. Diaw makes us better, eventhough Wallace is a better slasher/finisher and more athletic so I put him just a notch above Wallace.

x2, Choose whatever criteria you wish and go! and do the whole team you lazy so-and-sos......

Ok, here is my criteria....

Let's say you have to cut one Bobcat. Release him from his contract immediately. The first one you would pick is #14 on the list, the second #13, etc. This obviously pushes Lex up the list more than what his value is to the team right now.

1. Okafor
2. Crash
3. Diaw
4. Augustin
5. Felton
6. Bell
7. Lex
8. Vlad
9. Diop
10. Martin
11. Nazr
12. Howard
13. Singletary
14. May

Nazr and Diop go higher because of all the dead money we would have if we cut then, if we keep them they are at least an expiring one day. And Diop can be somewhat usefull.

Nice list. Me and you have identical lists except I have DJ over Bell but I realize as of this moment that is not right so I agree with you which gives us identical lists

Money shouldn't be taken into account fyi.

^Rich had 2 #1s, so you guys don't really have identical lists...

Yes that is true and not to seem like I am just copying him but as of now they are about tied. I put Ray above because of his potential but as of right now I would probably tie them. I just don't like to give ties unless I have to. With Felton breaking out I had to give him the edge. 9 assists a game which he is averaging lately is pretty amazing.

Ditto. I might even put Howard above Gana. I'm not a fan of Diop. I'd have to put Lex at the bottom, even below May. He's just not even close to ready.

Lots of Ray love lately. I almost feel like I'm on the wrong board. Ray as our "best" player? I like seeing it even if I disagree.

Yeah Lex sucks right now and is probably a total bust.
I put Diop over Howard only because Howard is pretty old and probably would get injured if he played alot of minutes. Diop is a defensive center which is more valuable then a backup pf. There both backups and i got to give it to the Center.

Good lord.....

How could you possibly know???

If you want to say this in 1 or 2 years i understand, but how can you tell from the brief time he has played?

Should I go through the trouble of naming the gazillion quality NBA players that weren't so great in their first season?

You may recall In a previous post I went through a lot of trouble comparing Lex to Andrew Bynum at the same stage in their career. (I chose Bynum because he is a laker, I could find 1,000 guys just like him) And you never responded!! Do you not understand that Young players get better over time?

Lex has played 10 minutes all year dude. Preseason included. No wonder you hate Morrison. You just like typing the word bust.
