Mar 7th Hammers: Bobcats Vs Knicks

Post#1 » by BigSlam » Sun Mar 8, 2009 3:10 am

Image - Crash. To be honest I based it on the final stats - something I don't ordinarily do, but it was SUCH a team effort, it was hard to single "the one" out.

Image - Boris. I mean, the guy is just SO dangerous. He does so much more than a stat line will ever show. Him and Larry are the most perfect of matches..........and there is a good chance we are only scratching the surface of what Boris can do (if LB gets his wish and Boris shoots more)

Image - Raja. It KILLS me to make this call because there is another Bobcat who could have easily got the bronze OR silver, but Raja hit big shots when we needed them, busted his arse and played all 4 qtrs really well and evenly.

Highlight of the night: Could have gone three ways, but went with the hustle that Raja showed after losing the dribble then going to the floor twice in succession and forcing the jump ball. It was vintage Bobcats hustle and heart.

I don't usually do a HM, but tonight I'm giving a HM to Alaa Abdelnaby who I thought was refreshing and did a wonderful job.

Gold - Crash...man had a killer game! Was all over the boards, hit some from outside and wreaked havoc in the paint.

Silver - Diaw...he just looks so SMOOTH offensively!

Bronze - Felton...played a solid game. Had 3 TOs I wasn't so thrilled about (yeah, I know he had 5 total), but considering the heavy minutes he and all the starters have played since last night I think his strong play more than outweighed them.

HM to Raja...very solid tonight Like Slam mentioned it's great seeing "the old guy" mix it up on the floor like he did.

Every starter shot 50% or better tonight...I can't remember that ever happening.

Some of them were BS and came with < 2 seconds left before end of quarters if that helps lessen the impact of his TO's for ya. :P

I know this is gonna sound political and I would probably and seems like the easy way to get out of it but I got to say it's a 3 way tie.

Diaw-He scored in the 4th when it looked like we couldn't close because that is a big problem for us. He would have been first if he got more then 3 boards.
Felton-18 points (or something like that) and 10 assists and he is playing again like the guy I thought he could be which he will be if he just shot at a better %. Again he also scored in the clutch. He not only has allstar potential but has clutch potential. He can be a shorter but more athletic Billups.
Wallace-He was everywhere. 15 points (again I think something like that so sorry if it was 17) in the first half and 13 rebounds. He makes up for Diaw's 1 fault- rebounding.

O.K. well then here it is

Gold-Felton
Silver-Wallace
Bronze-Diaw

I had to give it to Felton because he was clutch again. Also when you have a team with guy who can't create there own shot you need playmakers and he got 10 dimes.
Diaw I put third but he played so well I wouldn't argue with anybody who has him first. I think it is a 3 way tie but if I had to choose this is it.
Wallace get 3rd but I can see putting him even first with the boards, points and hitting the outside jumper. Diaw and Felton played better in the 4th so they get the edge.
