If Bobcats make the playoffs does LB coy?

I think the coach of the year will probably go to Phil or Brown. Maybe even SVG because there the best teams but if the Bobcats make the playoffs Larry Brown will have gotten a team with no stars (the only team in the league) to the playoffs and this is a team that has never made the playoffs in franchise history.
Does that make him a candidate for coach of the year? I would say so.

It makes him a candidate, but he wont win it. I think Scott Skiles has done a great job in Milwaukee. Playing without Redd for the rest of the year, and Bogut being injured, and somehow staying alive in the playoff picture is pretty amazing.

If the Bobcats make the playoffs and Milwaukee doesn't how does Skiles get the award. Might as well give it to the Sacramento coach for getting one win with that team.

No idea what you are talking about. I stated Skiles has done a great job with the current talent he has to put on the floor every night. I mentioned nothing about him winning coach of the year. As I previously stated Brown will get a little consideration, but ultimately unless Charlotte goes on an insane run and finishes the season 16-5 or something of that nature he wont win it. People tend to not vote for anyone with a team with a record below .500

I agree that Skiles has done a great job, he has changed the style of play to suit his battered team.

Greg popovich has probably done one of the best jobs as well considering his team's struggles. Do I think he should be COY? I didn't say that.

I would probably have to agree with you on that one, although I would like to see LB get it.

LB should get the nod. We have NEVER got to the playoffs. We have NEVER been so good. He did all this with one year with us. He hasn't even had THIS team the whole time so that's even more impressive. Though Cleveland, Orlando, and LA have had better years, they'll look our way. If LB gets the award, it'll be under the radar to the rest of the world but they'll have to agree.

They'll be like " Larry Brown and the Bobcats?"

If Brown finishes this season on a rampage ( which is a good possibility ) he has a punchers chance at it.

Id like to see him get it just seeing the way the New York media has, and still does bash him for a season that wasnt entirely his fault.

There's no way Brown wins it, but he really has been the center of the turnaround for this squad. Usually this goes to the biggest record change from last year, but since there isn't a huge turnaround story, Jerry Sloan probably gets it on career credentials. For real though, LB has made such a difference here, he has justified my enthusiasm when he first signed.

I don't think LB would win it but this is of course if they make playoffs which means Skilles doesn't. LB deserves it more then Skilles anyway because he does have at least 1 guy who is considered a star.

I think Coy if Cats make it goes like this

1.Phil
2.Brown
3.Stan
4.Doc
5.LB

All these coaches can be made cases for.

I highly doubt they give that award to a coach of a team with a losing record. That's not to take anything away from Brown because what he's done with this franchise is way more impressive than what other coaches have done this year... but that's just the way it works.

I do think people will bring him up in the discussion, but nobody will have the nads to actually vote for him.

I think he'll get consideration and mention. But on ESPN, they seem to be talking up the Miami coach, He's got them fighting for home court in the 1st round, and they only have 1 stud in Wade, and a couple Rookies in Chalmers and Beasley complementing him nightly.

If LB is a candidate for CoY does that mean that MJ should be a candidate for the Executive of the year?

He is, after all, the one who had to sign off on all the trades that we made which created a better team.

Were the only team in the league who doesn't have a star. Every team in the league has a bonified star or at least a 20 point a game guy like NY with Harrington who averages 21. The Knicks are the only one closest to us but they have a 21 point a game guy which is a star.

What other team doesn't have a star? Maybe I am missing one but I can't think of any.

Current day Pistons don't have a 20 ppg scorer.

Also, Philly.

And the Rockets.

And Jazz.

Those are the playoff caliber teams. This doesn't include teams like Phoenix (Amar'e) and Milwaukee (Redd) who's 20+ ppg scorers are done for the season.
