2nd time around in Charlotte

Post#1 » by August Us Seazr » Wed Mar 18, 2009 4:17 pm

This was inspired from the current "best trade of the year thread". My question is- After 4.5+ seasons, we have traded away some good and some bad (for us) players. If you could sign back or trade for anyone who has already worn the orange and pacific blue, who would it be? Have fun! :D
In loving memory of Barbara Hickman Taylor 07/20/1955-11/27/2010. Rest in Peace Sweet Lady!

Jared Dudley is about the only person that comes to mind

Of course I'd take J-Rich back but I'd actually rather start Bell and have J-Rich come off the bench, something he'd never do

Dudley is just one of those glue guys, lockeroom leaders, and brings great team chemistry.

On another note, I hate our colors. I was playing with a nerf football yesterday and realized that BLACK and our orange would look absolutely 100% better than this lame blue and orange that the New York Knicks already wear. Of course I wanted Black and Gold, something original and awesome but didn't get that wish.

Forgot about Walter. How's he doing with Detroit.

Also LB would never play him.

I'd same the same, but with Swish starting and Raja coming off the bench. That would be a heck of a starting 5 and some serious bench depth.

Agree on both fronts. Been saying since day #1 that black and orange would rock. For example:

And like you, have felt from the start that a combo of gold, white, silver and black would have been amazing (like Wake)

He plays Radman - no reason to think he wouldn't play Fabio. In fact, I think LB would LOVE Fabio and his denial D.

herrmann has been well coached. he makes shots, is unselfish, plays hard. no reason to think he couldnt get pt. he is better than vlad, imo.

Love the black & gold, or black and orange! Current colors just don't get it done for me, never have.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I'd also like to have the Hammer back..........just on a much, much, much cheaper contract.

Jason Kapono and Jared Dudley. Kapono for his shooting and Dudley for the fact that I think he'll be a very good 6th or 7th man in this league.

Sad thing is, there really aren't a whole lot of players to choose from.

Herrmann, Dudley, Weaver come to my mind. I cold live with others like Davidson etc, but that would be only filling inactvies spots. I like what we have, just those three guys I would welcome back anytime. On the other hand we have only 15 spots and except May, Dontell (still unknown) I wouldn't just waive anybody. Singletary is ok until we will spot a situation for upgrade, Cartier should got his chance, Nazr will be valuable expiring sooner or later, the same would be the worst case scenario for Gana, Lexy is an intriguing project and Juwan is an expiring anyway but a great presence not only off the court (probably something what Othella Harrington was supposed to be).

I am alright with there not being too many to select from I guess. That is an indication we haven't just let great talent walk if anything.

I am not sure there are any really that I would want to see receive significant minutes or break up the rotation we have going now. JRich is by far the best that has left, but I like everything Raja has provided this team. Besides everyone that has been mentioned there are other guys like Eddie House who played a few games and Bogans who can provide a few minutes. Not any real difference makers though.

How many former Bobcat's would even get PT on this team? not too many. That's how dramatically better our roster is right now.

C: Nobody better than Mek and Diop, maybe Hollins some day.
PF: Nobody, Rads/Howard is slightly better than Hermann IMO, but it's close.
SF: Dudley is better than Martin IMO, but we haven't seen much of him, so who knows. Put Hermann here if you want.
SG: Here is the real hole, Kapono maybe, and of course Richardson would get time on this team. Carrol should be on this list but LB doesn't like him. (or vice versa maybe)
PG: DJ is better than Knight and Jason Hart right now.

Definately
Richardson
Dudley

Maybe
Hermann (not LB's fault)
Carrol
Kapono(not LB's fault)

So that's what...maybe 2 former Bobcat's that would get time with the current team, none of them clear starters. That speaks to how clearly we've won every trade we've been involved in.

BLACK & ORANGE unis are SA-WEEET!

I probably look like an idiot for saying but I would have to bring Ammo back.

I recently posed a ? to David Thorpe on ESPN.com: Will Ammo get a 2nd NBA contract?
His reply was at league minimum at best, naturally. Not sure how much that is or if it's different for a vet but say Morrison comes back with no expectations at all at half a mil and produces 10 ppg off the bench.

Just to clarify - we are saying who we would take back, not which trade we would undo, right?

So when I said Swish, I was meaning we get to get him back AND keep Raja and Boris.

I wouldn't want Swish back at the cost of Raja and Boris. Just wanted to clear that up.

I actually like the pacific blue, it's the orange that sucks. They should switch to Blue and Silver with Black as the 3rd. Give 'em an orange stripe for heritage.

One could argue a Bobcat isn't Blue, but really it's not quite Orange either... it's like Tan and White or Gray.
