Mar 20th Hammers: Bobcats Vs Raps

Post#1 » by BigSlam » Sat Mar 21, 2009 1:29 am

Image - Crash. Set the tone of our game in the first minute of the game and continued with his play at both ends all night long.

Image - Boris. That's the aggression we need to see! Worked the post like a stud, boarded well and still used his passing to get others involved.

Image - Gana. Edited from Felts (sorry Felts!!). Bosh started killing us, EO50 got in foul trouble and was ineffective against Bosh, Gana checked in and effectively took Bosh out of the game.

Highlight of the night: The give and go between Boris and Crash with the shot clock running down in the 3rd was the perfect play to run and was executed flawlessly.

Gwall gets gold.
Kinda blah for everyone else.

Diaw silver, Felton bronze is OK. But eh.

Gold...Crash, 30/8/9, he powered the drive toward the end of the 3rd that put the Bobcats comfortably ahead

Silver...Diaw, if he continues to play like this, with that aggressive mindset in the post, the Bobcats are playoff bound

Bronze...Diop, he came in in the 3rd for Emeka and played a part in settling Bosh down to an extent, he is a significant asset, to have a center that can provide a real defensive presence if Emeka has to sit

I seriously thought about going that way too with my bronze Hammer.

Gold: Wallace
Silver: Diaw
Bronze: Felton

Diop played excellent defensively, but 2pts and 5rebs in 11 min does not get you a bronze game ball over Felton's game, LOL.

It does when he negates the massive effect that Bosh was having on the game which brought the Raps back in it.

Gold - Crash...what more can be said? MVP!

Silver - Boris...bring that the rest of the season and we'll make some real noise.

Bronze - Felton...logged a lot of minutes, played a solid game on both sides of the ball.

Yeah, Raymond is the starting point so he is always going to have nice numbers, hopefully. Diop may never have 20 and 10 but winning at this level takes a team effort and the blue collar style effort to winning he made tonight can be the difference.

I'm not discounting Diop's defense at all. But we're talking a hand full of possessions here. Take that out of the game completely and we still win, take Felton's performance out of the game and we probably don't. I'm just saying.

We're talking about Hammers here, people make totally knee jerk reactions without any explanation at all.

FWIW, Diop did great against Bosh, Felton did good against Calderon. Who cares, just vote. Diop gets a lot more votes for marginal play if he went to a school 25 minutes from my current locale...

edit: just to add so this doesn't turn into any sort of argument--May got a gold for the last game. A GOLD, and no one said **** about ****, because it was like a lifetime achievement award type thing. If I made a post every time someone voted for Felton because of his contribution in more minutes vs guy that did more with less I'd have 6k posts by now...

The voice of reason has spoken, lol. At least I didn't have to hand you a brown frown tonight for jinxing them.

Wallace
Diaw
Felton

No **** way the **** airballer is getting a hammer over Felton!

Walt, i'm certain whoever gave May the gold hammer did it as a joke. Ok, it doesn't seem like it was a joke, but he was the only one who gave May a hammer, so it had little to no impact on the voting.
Humble yourself.

^precisely my point, Hammers are just as likely to be taken seriously as given as total jokes... no reason to have multiple posts debating my selection over yours...
