Ammo Never Comfortable In Charlotte

http://blogs.charlotte.com/inside_the_n ... tions.htmlBobcats coach Larry Brown made it clear Monday that Adam Morrison is no longer here because he didn't want to be here, and couldn't handle the pressure associated with being chosen third overall in the 2006 draft.
He should never, ever have been taken so high in the draft - any draft.

Yeah he was wayyy overhyped. He should have gone past 10 to late teens. Luckily we've overcome picking such a bust by having hard working players on the roster. Without that we'd still suck.

I still can't believe he was taken that high in the draft. To this day I still keep thinking about how we could have had Brandon Roy instead and how well this team can be playing right now with LB coaching him and this team.

And you have to think if LBa was in charge, Ammo would never have been picked 3rd. Most likely, it would have been Roy. And that is what hurts.

Yeah, LB loves athletic and tough/gritty players.....Adam is neither.

I really hope he pulls it together in LA. He seems like a nice guy. But he was 100% completely freaked out from day 1. It's strange, he played in some big games at the college level and it didn't seem to bother him. When he got to the NBA it was too much.
Brown really gave him every chance to prove himself, probably costing the team wins.
It wouldn't shock me to find out in 10 or 15 years that he had a drug problem or some other personal issue that affected him, he was just never right mentally.

Larry Brown's system can make or break your game. LeBron didn't like playing for Larry. J-Rich didn't do much in his system.
Larry wanted him to be a spot-up shooter. It's like telling Hedo or Dirk to just be a spot-up shooter. He doesn't work like that. He's a scorer. He could have developed into a Dirk or Turk. Not really athletic players who can do up and under lay-ups, but they can score. ( Now don't be a dick and tell me "He is no where near those players" b*tch, it's an analogy )
Now to tickle Dex, he played like garbage this year. He played next to horrible. I get it. But I know there's hope. He's still young, and he still has time to get better. I won't stand here and tell you guys that your opinions are wrong or BS, but I will say that they are unfair. I don't know how good he will be, it's too soon to say. Rookie Wall year, ACL injury in preseason, double come-back / LB system / traded to LA year. Is it fair to label his career?
In a few years, if he doesn't develop into something less than a 15th man, I will come back here and you guys can say "I told you so."
Until then, accept the fact that we drafted him and accept those ridiculous Adam Morrison Comics.
and shut-up. you guys are Tampon Posters sometimes.

Um, if we drafted Brandon Roy, Bernie Bickerstaff would still be our coach, we'd have the same amount of wins, and Roy wouldn't be an allstar - plus he'd be injured 20-25 games a season.

Adam Morrison is not good enough to play NBA ball and will be out of the league when his contract expires. I don't blame him, some people aren't good enough to play in the NBA, that doesn't make them bad people, it just makes them bad investments. We have to move on with our lives and stop thinking about Roy or Gay.

I'll backup Steve a little bit here. Only because we've seen flashes of what he's capable of. I always think back to that game against the T-Wolves his rookie season. It was one of the only times where I saw him taking control and attacking the basket as if he expected to score every time. His problems are almost 100% mental. I'm not saying he'll ever be a good player, but he has the talent to do so if he can put it together mentally.

Yeah, only half whites (Blake Griffin), non whites, or really good European's need apply.

Im glad you said it. I was gonna correct the guy who said should have been taken late teens but I am glad to see somebody took the words out of my mouth.

Steve- I'll hand it to you. You stick to your guns. I admire that. Even with the Rookie Wall, ACL Injury, and all the stuff this year, Morrison has still contributed more to the Bobcats than Sean May. I get homesickness/not comforable in the surroundings a whole lot more than partying your way through an entire four year rookie contract. My salute to Ammo is that at least he was a professional about his situation.

Speaking of which, you're going to find a lot of differing opinions about Rubio's ability to translate his style of play to the NBA. Some scouts still question his athleticism and perimeter shooting, with one GM we spoke to recently going as far as to say that he would “never draft a white guy.” Another NBA scout pointed out his incredible natural talent and basketball IQ, saying that “it's impossible for a player this smart not to end up being successful.”
From an article on Ricky Rubio in Draft Express
Don't know if I quoted that right. Pretty interesting though that an actual GM would say that if it's true. I guess if you miss out on Larry Bird it could be a huge mistake but for the most part, aside from guys 6'10 or taller it's a good strategy.
But when you bring a player in to test his skills, how hard is it to see that he can't keep up defensively against NBA players. Play him one on one against Gerald Wallace, if he can't stop him at least 3 out of 10 times, you know he is going to suck on D. Don't draft him.

Ammo's not old but he's not exactly 21 either. He didn't come out a 19 year old rookie. Isnt he 25 or 26 already? They say 28 is prime years. At what point do you look at the possibility he won't work out in the nba?

regarding rubio, i think you can make it as an unathletic pg a lot easier than you can as an unathletic wing. there are plenty of average white pgs. at worst rubio is similar to calderon, nash, ridnour, blake etc.. in terms of athleticism. i'd be more concerned about his lack of a jumper. if you cant beat guys off the dribble you better be able to shoot.
