Someone had mentioned it in the past week (sorry, can't remember who!!) but they were right, it looks like we wont have a SL team this coming summer!!
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4076685It also says that LB will play guys like Lexy and McMay on other teams SL rosters!
Didn't know you could do that!

I don't think its a situation like Alexis would play with the Cavs or something, if I remember correctly there is usually one or two teams that aren't affiliated with an NBA team. Its just like a bunch of free agents as a team. Maybe that is Larrys plan.
Or maybe its his way of saying Sean May won't be a Bobcat next year.

Hopefully the shop that guy soon. Lexi not May.

i know money is tight but not fielding a summer league team really makes the franchise look mickey mouse.

On the other hand may be this is the way how to by-pass an only rookie/sophomore in summer league rule. Maybe that doesn´t apply for non-team summer league teams (or I am completely folling myself and there is such a rule only for NBDL).

Anyone can play in the summer league, it's only the NBDL where you have to be a FA or first/second year delegated rookie.

I haven't run across it in the NBA rules, but I think this Wiki entry is correct:
The National Basketball Association Summer League (also called the Vegas Summer League to differentiate it from the other pro summer leagues) is a pro basketball league run by the NBA in the United States just following the NBA Draft. Teams consist of players who have been in the league for 3 years or fewer as well as newly drafted talent. It gives Rookies a chance to practice against other players that are new to the NBA.
Spoelstra said it is possible the Heat bypasses summer-league play this year and instead works with free agents and its young players solely at the team's facility.
Miami might skip SL as well.
