Bobcats War Room - Fifth Pick - 2009

Post#1 » by August Us Seazr » Thu May 7, 2009 2:39 am

Man, what a rough week. Felt like a year! Tonight I finished a day that included two out of town doctor's appointments. Different towns, too. But I'm ready to continue chasing down our draft board!

Our selections are: Demar DeRozan at four, James Harden at three, Ricky Rubio at two, and EVERYBODY'S CONCENSUS (almost! :D ), Blake Griffin at number one. WHO WILL WE SELECT AT FIVE? Will we continue our run of shooting guards? Does a big become the BPA? If he does, would we choose him? Stay tuned. Answers Thursday night!

You all saw our poll names on entry to the thread. Do your research, then let us know what you think would be the best way to draft IF ...

1- our four names above have been drafted by other teams,
2- we have made a trade with the team owning the fifth pick, and
3- we are ON THE CLOCK!!!!!!!!!!

Just remember, if you are toggling back and forth between two guys, or just hit the wrong one, you CAN change your vote. Only if you want to, of course 8-) Stealth and claws! Pounce!

Voted for Evans. See fourth pick for explanation.

At this point, the need for a good shooting guard outweighs Thabeet or Clark. Another night, bigs!

Your turn has arrived... :D

Same with Evans.. Need to focus on the SG position and then turn to the bigs. I also think Evans could have the 'wow' factor.

I'm a man of my word. Evans was the pick.

Evans (but if we did draft him I could see me slapping my forehead even more than I have in the past during games for a while)

I have to think LB will go with Thabeet here. Remember how the team talked of getting a true Center and moving Mek to PF. Have to think he would go Thabeet.

This isn't about what you think LB would do though ohara - this is about what you would do.

I know Evans is the logical pick here but something smells funny with him. He clearly is a natural scorer and a great athlete but something makes me think there might be a bit of Ricky Davis or Larry Hughes in him.

I'll trust my instincts and pick Brandon Jennings.

And the majority have selected ... (fanfare please) Tyreke Evans of Memphis University to fill the Five Hole. (Hockey Goalie lingo not intended)

I see that my absence has hurt our voting numbers. Hope things improve with pick six, which we will shift on over to.
