Anybody agree with this trade?

Post#1 » by ccbballin » Thu May 7, 2009 9:03 pm

Cha: Radman
Nazr
#12 pick

for

GS: Jamal Crawford
Rony Turiaf

PG: Felton, DJ, Dontell
SG: Raja, Crawford
SF: Wallace, Anthony Parker
PF: Diaw, Turiaf, May
C: Mek, Gana, Lex

GS wants rid of Crawford but he averaged almost 20ppg last year. He'd immediately give scoring help but not much else. If Felton doesn't resign he could play a lil at point. Turiaf would help alot down low.

I could be convinced... Crawford is a bit of a chucker, but I'd wear it to get some more firepower.

I'm kind of iffy, but only because of Tuiaf...leaning towards no. 12th is a lot to give up for him IMO and this doesn't help us salary wise.

I really don't get the love for Crawford. Is it because he dropped 50 on us in one game? You guys know has as many or more where he puts in 12-15 at an abysmal rate right?

This is how I feel. He's a career poor shooter with fairly ordinary D. Even in the game when he lit us up for 50 I thought that Bookie was the best Warrior on the court - and he's about 3 years younger and 6 million dollars less a season.

I don't care for Crawford, i'm sure LB wouldn't consider a chucker like him on this team.

Crawfords' numbers never really seem to effect the game. Every time I've ever seen him play live, he puts up his numbers after the game has just about been decided.

It would be nice to dump Nazr, but I don't think this is the trade to do it.

Ehh... I mean Turiaf and Crawford are both pretty average players, they'd make us better, but at least there's a chance the #12 delivers someone special.

Turiaf has a good contract, but Crawford is overpaid and we'd be locked in for 2 years. I don't see him as the missing piece, though I guess we would probably make the playoffs with that squad...

Crawford/Bell
Wallace/whoever

FWIW, Crawford did really well under LB in New York. Larry got Crawford to control himself somewhat and reduce the number of brainfart shot selections.

That being said, I will go out on a limb and say Crawford will never be a starting shooting guard for a playoff team, and in fact, the 12th pick can draft a better player than him. I would much rather take a chance with a Tyreke Evans or a TWill.

Why do we keep giving up draft picks to get SG's that Golden State wants to get rid of anyway?

I think I prefer the pick. Crawford is a decent scorer but not great.

The NBA Draft is one of my favorite days of the year especially when my team has a high pick. I always want to draft the next star and personally I would be hurt and kind of angry if we traded the pick.

But most of the talk has been that this is a weak draft. If we draft a SG then we're probably going to have to put up with some bad shooting for a year or two because no one other than Curry and maybe Harden comes in as a great scorer.

I also remember that trading Brandon Wright turned out to get us more wins at this point than he could come close to getting if he was with the Bobcats.

But still his potential is pretty high.

Larry Brown loves crawford and players like Ronny. He would insinst on this lopsided trade. Just ask the Warriors what they think. If we like it and they hate it, clearly we are benifiting.
