Potential Bobcats/Sixers Trade Talk?

From the T&T board:

According to our board insider, these two teams are discussing a deal of Dalembert for Radmanovic and Mohammed. The Sixers are also trying to get a pick swap or a 2nd rounder in the trade.

I don't see it making much sense for either team for a number of reasons, but it will be interesting to see if (at all) how it plays out.

From a value perspective it's not really a bad deal. We'd get a very solid, starter-worthy center for a guy we never play and a one-dimensional SF on a bad contract.

But the last thing we need on this roster is another overpaid center with no offensive game and we'll be losing our only backup SF which could haunt us when Wallace inevitability goes down.

I don't think we'll get any better with this deal and I agree it doesn't make much sense unless Okafor or Diop is on the way out.

I'd rather invest more time in Gana at half the price, none of the locker room distractions and equal output than bring in Dally.

Hi guys - just thought Id give quick input on this even if it is just a slight rumor

If you do get Dalembert youll be both pleased and pissed off at his play - One night he'll be impressive with his defensive abilities and shot blocking but another night his low bball IQ and terrible hands will kick in and youll be flipping out

Any info on Nazr and Vlads contracts? thanks!

PS - I was really pulling for you guys to make the playoffs but theres always next season

well, this might also mean we would start actively looking to move okafor in a deal to get a scoring threat.

Same here. My hunch is that if the rumors are true then they're planning on dealing either Okafor or Diop. No need to have all three of those guys on the same roster at the amount they make. Plus if we can get decent value for Mek, I wouldn't feel so bad about trading him if we've got Dalembert and Diop holding down the 5 spot.

That's the only way I pull this trigger. You'd have to have a significant PF coming in to score and rebound next to either of those guys. Diaw would either need to be moved or switched to the 3 (resulting in a Wallace trade). I'd be surprised if that happened, as we need depth, so maybe Diaw goes back to a 6th man role, playing both the 4 and 3 in reserve (big minutes). If so you don't need Vlad. But Boris would be plenty pis**d if that happened.

Could this be a deal that is connected to the "floated" trade idea of Okafor to OKC for the #3 pick and Collison? I know Larry B wants Curry sssooooooo bad! :D

Hmm...

I liked Mohammed. Vladimir is alright. Dalembert is the most talented player involved, let me check out his contract...Okraforkesque. I would do it?

Mohammed is done here, I think he'll contribute on his next team, just like he did when he initially arrived in Charlotte. I guess moving Radman would signal that we rolled the dice thinking he was more skilled than he actually was?

Dalembert and Okafor holding down the paint remind anyone else of Tyronne Hill and Dikembe Mutombo? If only we could figure out acquiring a player that can score...

He's talented but most of the time he's dumb as dog crap and can have a pissy attitude - toward the last few years he's becoming more and more of a cancer IMO so I would be happy to get rid of Dally

Dally wasn't always pissy though, right? What made him happy?

Well George Lynch, Aaron McKie & Eric Snow are all done. I wonder if that Iverson guy is still playing?

honesty and cleanliness is what keeps me from going that route
(I once met a used car dealer that smelled like self-loathing and cat pee)

Sammy D will alter 8-10 shots a night, alone.

Pair him with Okafor and the combined perimeter defense of Raja Bell and Gerald Wallace not allowing penetration, all the sudden, your points in the paint against number reduces by 15. All the sudden, opposing teams are forced shooting jumpshots. All the sudden, FG% against drops below 40. All the sudden, fast break opportunity happen. With Dalembert being the best running bigman in the league.

Charlotte becomes a 45 win team.

And where would the Bobcat's offence come from? Just the fastbreak and long jumpers? Having both together sounds like it would kill BOTH teams inside scoring.

I think ill disagree with you on this board as well :D

He has trouble altering shots without fouling and since its hard to alter shots while sitting on the bench his shot altering abilites are overhyped IMO
Stay on the floor for more than 12 minutes a game then Ill praise he altering abilities

and we still have the problem of okafor not being able to guard half the pfs in the league due to lack of quickness. diaw is a better defender at pf than okafor.

if we get sammy, move okafor. i dont want to see both together.
