2009 Summer League Thread

Post#1 » by BigSlam » Tue Jul 7, 2009 2:30 pm

We obviously don't have a SL team (boooooo!!) but at least Hendo and Brown are getting some burn. We can keep track of how they are doing in here - as well as any other SL stand outs or flubs.

In his 1st SL game for the Jazz, Brown logged:

14:57 mins
9pts (3/7, 0/1, 3/3)
3 boards
3 fouls

T.Will with a pretty ordinary 1st outing - although the 3 blocks and 9 boards are nice.

Speights with a monster game.

Westbrook still can't shoot, but can fill it up.

Harden just eases his way into the NBA.

Ryan Anderson might be a very nice pick up for the Magic in the VC trade.

"We had him No. 20 on the (draft) board," Larry Brown said. "He's long and he can handle it. He can shoot it a little bit."

Wow Ryan Anderson just had 20 pts in the first half against the Celtics. He's going to be scary playing next to Dwight. Anyone else doing any Derrick Brown watching?

Where's Hendo? TWill's shooting looks horrible, the rest of his game looks great though.

I did see Derrick Brown had a monster slam. Dante and Galante went crazy!

Ryan Anderson put up 33 points. Seriously? I know this is SL and all, but damn!

I'm hearing some pretty good things about UPS and his athleticism. He should be a really solid backup for Wallace whenever he misses time for his injuries

WHAT CAN BROWN DO FOR YOU? Great nickname for our future 6th man star!
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

He's playing with the Wolves who don't kick off their SL until the 12th.

Derek Brown has the ability to be a great help blocker. Think Josh Smith (lite version).

Still not a lot of PT for our guy in game #3.

19:15 mins
10pts (4/8, 0/2, 2/4)
3 boards
1 foul
1 steal
2 blocks
4 turn overs

Man I wish we had our own SL team so that UPS could get 30mpg.

Yep, Brown dropped 25 points on the Magic. Still waiting to see the box score.

Former Xavier forward Derrick Brown is in a unique position -- the Charlotte Bobcats, who drafted him in the second round, aren't fielding a summer team, so he was loaned to the Jazz for this week.

Wearing a Jazz jersey, Brown went for 25 points in 22 minutes on Thursday, including a 3-point play with 14 seconds left to force overtime.
