Diop

Post#1 » by Vindicater » Wed Jul 22, 2009 9:07 am

Hi guys

I have Diop in my keeper fantasy comp.

I was just wondering what role you see for him this season and the numbers you would expect out of him?

Cheers for the Info

Depends on whether they hang on to Mohammed and if maybe Brown can work his magic on Diop but it'll probably be around 3ppg 5rpg 1 blk

I'm still shaking my head about the Carroll/Hollins for Diop trade.

Nazr > Diop. without a doubt

lol, at one point he look ok in Dallas. Sometimes I think we'd make better GMs that most nba GMs.

i'm not really saying diop the player is useless (not counting salary), he is a solid back up center and a decent low post defender. but in terms of fantasy is he AWFUL. unless you are just desperate for blocks, and i mean DESPERATE, then i dont see any reason diop would ever be in a fantasy lineup. he is not worth rostering even in the deepest, 12+ team, dynasty/keeper leagues.

For a guy that plays little minutes he does provide one key category, blocks. He is practically useless unless we trade Nazr away and if AJinca still needs more improvement.

Its a 30 team dynasty league in which you need t have one centre in the starting lineup in one centre on the bench. I know hes not amazing, but he was super cheap and filled a roster need.

Jesus, I ask for some info and I get ripped on.

He'll be the backup c and should be better now that he's in better shape. He's also been given the reigns to do whatever the hell he wants on offense, something he was not given in dallas. He's also been motivated by Brown whose likely telling him that Emeka's position isn't guaranteed since Brown just questioned Okafor's passion for the game. Who knows with this front office, Okafor might get traded to save cash making Diop the starting center.

Dude shot 27% from the FT line, only 46% from the floor only averaged 14mpg and didn't do anything to make himself stand out since joining the Bobcats and you wonder why you are ripped on for taking him in a fantasy league?

I promise you there were better options in your league, even a 30 team league, to take as your back up C than Gana. Gana would have a negative impact on any fantasy team.

Well it depends who is available for C spot. If it is strict and centers are scarce then well. But I would rather try to snatch some big forward with minutes for that spot. Diop has bad hands and will get you some occasional turn overs - but just because he doesn't get many touches on offesne he can't create them in bunches so it is a non-issue.

a 30 team league? ok... i guess that makes it a little different. sorry if he felt like we were ripping you. just hard to imagine anyone caring enough about diops fantasy potential to even ask. anyway, good luck to your team.

go ahead and stash ajinca on your roster. now, he might be worth hanging on to.

Would ya'll do a re-trade? We never liked Carroll over here and didn't give us much production and i don't think he ever made a three. Isn't that supposed to be what he's good at. But Hollins was good he played great in Dallas but we need defense. So is it possible to trade him back? or ya'll wouldn't want too

I'd happily redo that trade.

Maybe I should have said undo. I would prefer Carroll+Hollins over Diop.

Do we all agree on that? I'll try to somehow talk to Cuban to see if we can get it done. Will work my ass off to get Diop back in Dallas with the team we have now.
