lal-cha trade

s&t odom 3 years for 30 + farmar + morrison(expiring)

incoming salary for LAL: 17,000,000

for

diaw + felton s&t 32 for 4 years

incoming salary for CHA: 16,204,468

why for lal? gives them a poor man's lamar in diaw and a starting PG. imo felton is much better fit than farmar in the tri

LAl's lineup

bynum,mbenga
gasol,diaw,powell
artest,walton,diaw
kobe,brown,sasha
felton,fisher,brown

diaw + felton s&t 32 for 4 years

incoming salary for CHA: 16,204,468

for

s&t odom 3 years for 30 + farmar + morrison(expiring)

incoming salary for LAL: 17,000,000

why for cha? odom>diaw,

it lowers the're salary and they avoided giving a long term contract to nelson

farmar<nelson, but not that much? I think farmar is not just the right fit for triangle. hes a decent defender, can shoot threes, very good passer, can penetrate/drive to the basket (but still very incosistent at this)...he still has some potential, and hes cheaper than nelson too.

cha's lineup

chandler,diop,Nazr
odom,Nazr,rad
wallace,vlad,odom
bell
farmar,augustin

Can I interest you in Tyson Chandler instead? Maybe for Bynum or Gasol? Tell ya what, I'll throw in Dontell Jefferson (he's expiring) just to sweeten the deal.

i dunno where that part about nelson came from, I'm assuming you meant Felton

I'd prefer to keep what we have if only because I don't think Odom would play hard here

Seriously though, who is Nelson and why are we considering giving him a long term contract?

think about it, you'll gain cap flexibility (by not extending felton and giving him a long contract), you gain as much or even better talent as you guys lose, you guys can convince wade to come here, odom is a close friend of wade and with lary brown as your coach he'll probably consider it

you're posible lineup

chandler,diop
odom,nazr
wallace,radman
wade,bell
farmar,wade,augustin

or you can start bell, because wade and lamar are good facilitators anyway

chandler,diop
odom,nazr
wallae,radman
bell,
wade,farmar,augustin

coach larry brown

:o

add a few shooters and veteran players and you guys will be favorite in the east

I'd sign Wades grandma and start her at center if it'd make him sign here

Nothing like justifying a terrible trade idea by using the words "convince ","probably" and "consider" with a follow up trade that would never happen.

ok even if you guys dont get wade, you guys get financial flexbility by not extending felton's contract, and you guys get the same talent in return or probablty even better and its cheaper.

this is like the okafor for chandler trade

plus ok let say you guys dont get wade, just adding a player like joe johnson or any allstar and add some veteran players would make you guys playoff team

but if you guys think the trade really sucks then :dontknow:  thanks for your time... peace

So you want us to trade two starters, for an aging Odom? Is that about right?

Maybe Diaw for Odom straight up, but their talent levels aren't far enough apart to throw our starting PG in the mix.

Methinks other teams are thinking we got "raped" in the Chandler trade and are trying to get a piece of the action while it's still available. SORRY! We're closed for business.

-ok odom is >> than diaw if you dont belive check the stats (especially his miami stat, when he was playing as a starting PF) but I think diaw is a bit underrated but hes NOT a starter material. about odom aging; 3 years from now when he is on his last contract year, I bet he can still average diaw's stats right now plus you guys are getting a 22 year old pointguard who has nice potential

-your starting PG you cant even get to sign (or he doesnt really wanna sign with you guys), because your gm think hes asking too much. would you guys rather lose him for nothing?

-I dont like the chandler deal either. but think deeper okafor is better than chandler I agree, but not that much, hes a real 7 foot center, and hes contract is shorter too. giving you guys more salary flexibility. plus expiring/short contracts can be very useful because: 2010 free agency, economy/stern will lower the salary cap next season/you guys are a small market team.

Odom isn't a better fit for our team than Diaw is, and I'll take that bet.

And are you seriously trying to sell us Farmar because he has potential?     Felton isn't going anywhere, stop being ridiculous.

I'm actually for the Chandler trade so there's no need to convince me on that. It's simple, there's no way we trade two starters for two bench guys--one of which isn't anywhere near as good as our second string PG.

why is odom not a good fit for you guys? he can pretty much do all the things that diaw does but better,( but i think diaw is a better midrange shooter but not that much) plus you guys just traded your starting center/pf/ franchise player thats been playing for you guys for 4-5 years? and your talking about "the right fit"?

I understand this one. but farmar showed flashes that he can be a good pointguard, hes a leader. pure pointguards like him dont fit well in the tri

like I said diaw is not a starting material powerforward; odom on bench> diaw starting. diaw is good coming off the bench as a 6th man

you know what OK no trade. you guys think its a bad trade then ok peace

how can you suggest diaw is not starting material?

he was great last season for us. hes not an allstar or an all nba pf, but he is starter quality and to suggest he isnt is purely ridiculous.
