Yea or nay?
http://www.82games.com/0708/07DEN4D.HTMI'm totally up in the air about this one.
If it happens, Larry B would have be coaching his ass off every night, every practice, every second of every day during pre- and normal season. And post-, if it comes to that.

This is what the Cats need - Iverson would be huge for you and could be the step towards the playoffs.

Really? The only problem is, how can us lowly Charlotte Bobcats compete with the hordes of teams that are lining up to sign this "magical" player?

PG: Felton, Augustin
SG: Iverson, Bell, Henderson
SF: Wallace, Radmanovic, Brown
PF: Diaw, Chandler, Radmanovic
C: Chandler, Diop, Mohammed
That AWFUL Okafor for Chandler trade set us back, but we can make up for it by signing Iverson! If nothing else, he'll be a nice little attendance draw.
I've been against bringing in Iverson in the past, but this is the time to bring him in. Make the playoffs the next two seasons with him, and then dump the marginal players with huge contracts and get a superstar.

Why not take a chance? Wihtout him you're for sure once again a poor lottery team. Sorry but it won't get better without some risk. The media just got to much on AI and now everybody forgets the good years in Philly and Denver. But if Bobcats fans want no starpower, an empty arena and no chance at the playoffs - so be it.

Go cut yourself!
But, I agree, we need Iverson.

The Bobcats were actually 28-31 after the trade with Phoenix. Not too shabby. Plus, that was with a ton of injuries, no depth, and a road heavy schedule, so they're better then you're giving them credit for. Oh, and LB tanked the final two games of the season. Probably would have lost to Orlando, regardless, but our starters put a butt whooping on New Jersey.

this is the kind of situation that you bring out the pros and cons chart. But forget it we no we NEED iverson the worst that could happen is we sign him for 1 year and dosnt peform to expectations and we dont resign him big woop. We need scoring if we can aquire iverson we got some scoring since we went down probly about 20 ppg with the oakfor trade so we need scoring. Our FO needs to give him a chance PAY HIM THE MONEY AND SIGN HIM HE WILL HELP US WITH SCORING. Lets face it bell gets injured alot and hendo is most likely not ready to start in the nba. We get iverson, cut bells minutes which means cut the chance of him getting injured. i would take ai over felton if it means we get to the playoffs. If we can get ai felton and a backup 4 playoffs no questions asked. They better not let him sign with another team like panthers did with vick. I have a feeling that the ai thing is going to happen like the vick thing did he could of helped the team alot but our management dosnt want him i mean come on people. This is our BEST chance to get a allstar and posibly fill seats. our closest thing to that was when we had J-rich and that dosnt even compare to wat we could do with iverson. This is our YEAR if we get him come on people he cant be that bad if we get him.

If we don't sign him we have 0 chance of making the playoffs. If we do sign him, we have at least a pretty good chance as our biggest team problem is scoring the ball. Iverson moving Bell to the bench isn't that big of a defensive drop off anyway, and with him and Gerald no passing lane is safe. Even if he busts (which won't happen), we are in the same situation with less fans, less jersey sales, less tickets sold etc. We need to try this. Its not like theres any long term implications, we arent signing him for 5 years. This team needs a STAR.
Playing Gerald Henderson decent minutes (or worse, playing Felton/DJ at the 2 AGAIN) IS NOT GONNA GET IT DONE. Henderson is too raw to be a 1st backup on a playoff team, and FELTON AT SG CLEARLY HASN'T WORKED FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS, I DON'T THINK IT WILL NOW!! we need CHANGEEEEE.
bring Iverson NOW

Really? So now it's the media's fault? Tell me oh wise one, if Iverson is this magical player who can turn water into wine, why exactly did Denver and Detroit get rid of him?

Felton at the 2 on defense isn't much of a problem most of the time. Offensively, Augustin should be at the 2 when they're on the court together. I actually think they play quite well on the court together. I'm assuming Felton and Iverson would be on the court together quite a bit.

Why did LA get rid of Shaq? Why did Minny get rid of Garnett? Why did Dallas get rid of Nash? You see how dumb this is?

I think the potential gains far outweigh the potential losses. If he plays like he did in Denver, which I think he can, then we're getting an all-star caliber PG/SG. If he completely flops, he's a decent-sized expiring and we're still clear of his deal by the time our big-time cap space is due to exist (2012).
He could certainly make the difference between us being a 35-40 win team to a 45 win team.

Denver got rid of him because Chauncey Billups is better than him, and they're right. Detroit got him in order to let his contract expire, so they did.

It all comes down to the price and length of the contract for me.

Definitely get him I don't think we will make the playoffs as things stand without him and even he disappoints hes going to bring the fans out LB at least knows how to use him of which Detroit didn't know/care.
Basically the good he could give us outweighs the bad so heres to hoping we bring him in!

Likewise. I wouldn't be surprised if he was trying to lock up a deal somewhere around 4 years and 6 million per year. One last big contract but it would seem all these teams are hesitant about giving him a lengthy contract (at least I hope).
2 years is probably as high as I would go on length. 3 would be like pulling teeth.

I like the bobcats and hopefully you guys make the playoffs. Bringing in one of my fav players in Iverson would be so huge. Just give him a 2 year 10 million deal and maybe a 3rd year with a teamoption.
Bring it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLp8MmCP ... re=relatedYour jersey sales would rise also. At least I would buy his jersey!
