Joey Dorsey (and Battier)

Post#1 » by Mezotarkus » Mon Sep 21, 2009 10:09 pm

I wouldn't mind it of the Bobcats brokered a deal to get this guy on the team. He roflstomped people during the Summer League and while the Summer League does not translate extremely well to normal NBA play he seems like the kind of high energy guy we could use in the front court.

The Rockets already need to figure out how to fit McGrady, Battier and Ariza on the court at the same time and need a big man.

How about Mohammed and a second rounder for Battier and Dorsey?

Are you kidding? Are are kidding?

Battier is nearly untradeable. Any team in their right mind would love him. And you rank him as being worth, what... a huge untradeable contract and a second rounder? (Dorsey is worth nothing).

That's beyond crazy talk. It's permanent-ignore talk.

Rockets need a big man, don't have minutes to spare for Battier with Ariza's new long term contract, and while Battier is a great guy and a great locker room presence his production is bad. And agreed Mohammed is a contract disaster but he's better than Diop's contract (though I'd be happy to move Diop in this trade rather than Mohammed). I might even go for a protected first rounder to get this trade done.

Houston will laugh at this.

But how about this one: Ariza+Battier+Landry+Dorsey for Wallace+Bell?

Yeah nevermind. Looks like Rockets fans would want either nothing (as in nothing on our roster works for them), packaging Battier and Dorsey with Cook for Chandler, or working out a deal to get G.Wallace.

You'll get a more unbiased opinion on the trade board vs. another team's...but most do overvalue Battier (and Nazr doesn't have a great value over there either).

Keep the ideas coming though. As some have noted on BCP the restriction on us trading for Landry expires in a few days. Maybe something with him.

for the record... houston will not have any problems finding minutes for battier... because he will start 82 games and play 35mpg (playing 2,3 and 4 - starts at sf)

tmac if healthy will start at sg and ariza will start at sg when tmac isnt healthy (which is always) and will also back up both players.

you will have 3 players splitting minutes for 2 spots. that is not a log jam, especially when one of those 3 players is never healthy.
