This would be pretty much the dumbest thing ever, and I am highly skeptical that we're going to take on salary like that. I thought the Okafor trade would push me over the edge, but I was wrong about that, so maybe this wouldn't either.

I honestly didn't take this seriously when I posted just minutes ago. We are the dumbest franchise in the NBA. Jackson is on the hook until 2013. Goodbye to our 2011 cap space, we'll have over a $42m payroll that year.
I like Jackson as a player, I think he does a lot of things well, but I don't think he's about to turn our season around and make us into a playoff contender, so what are we doing, exactly? Just piling up contracts so we can never blow the team up?
Jackson's not going to be happy at all to be here, either, why would he? I hate this deal so much, so, so much, though a part of me was already so depressed about this season that I have a little hope that he somehow DOES turn us into a good team.

At least we get rid of Vlad Rad.
Jackson gives us scoring.... but think about it. What were we going to do with our 2011 cap space anyway?
I don't think we are done trading. This is just the first in a major overhaul that this team needs.
Raja, sorry to see you go. I loved your less-than-a-year stay in Charlotte and you have a cool name.

I think it's clear now that we won't resign Felton.

Can Jackson play 2 at all? How does he get his minutes split up with Wallace and Diaw?

I like the deal. Jax gives us what we desperately need, scoring. He does everything well. His only negative has been his attitude, which he gets when he is not happy. I am sure LB knows what he is doing getting a high risk high reward player like this. I now wonder with Acie involved in the deal does that mean another trade may be looming with Felton? I hope so. Hate to see Raja go. Good team guy and leader. He will be missed.

He can play the 2. HE was supposively to play the 2 coming into the season with Ellis at the 1.

Jax can play anywhere except 5. Very good with the ball in his hands.

One things for sure: This team just became a whole lot more interesting.

Jackson can play 2, I would assume that's what he'll be doing full-time. He's an excellent ball-handler and passer, so that is cause for some optimism regarding how well he'll pair with Wallace (better, perhaps, than JRich).
I worry that he's going to shoot 20 times a game... though even his low eFG% is an improvement over the team as a whole, so maybe he won't decline too much from the high workload and thus improve our team?

*sigh* even if he does improve our team, I can't get over the salary implications here... we're just investing ourselves further into mediocrity.

He won't be worth his contract during it's final year, when he's 34 and banking 10.59m, but maybe we can turn that contract into another slick asset!
In the meantime, we have to hope he's in better health than Raja and can bring a similar defensive intensity and provide similar leadership. If Boris continues asserting himself on offense, he and Jax ought to be a pretty good combo opening things up for Wallace. I'm trying to be positive here.

S-JAX is great offensive boost for the team. Question is his attitude.
PS.
I think there is a chance to see Augustine at second guard spot.
