Team payroll ?

Hey, Cats fans--

I was just wondering if you guys are at all concerned with the financial future of your team? I am not really familiar with your current payroll but I do know Wallace, Diaw, Diop and S.Jax are all to be owed hefty amounts of money in the years to come. Come this offseason, the Bucks (my team) will have large expiring deals in Gadzuric and Redd. Would these expiring deals be of any interest at all to you?

I know you all take pride in your team defense, as you should, so I would understand if you do not want to part ways with any of your guys. Players of interest from the Bucks perspective would be Wallace and I am personally intrigued with Henderson.

Say we offer a deal like Redd/Ukic/2nd for Henderson/Diaw/Nazr

Any thoughts would be appreciated, love your team and good luck this season.

I watched the MIL/OKC game and wasn't impressed by Roko one bit. Either way, we already have Ray, DJ, and Acie as PG's so we wouldn't be looking to add another. I'm also concerned with Redd's knee as he took himself out of the lineup because it still doesn't feel right to him. So I'd have to decline that offer, especially with us parting with our only real option at PF and our future SG. I simply will not have Crash playing PF for any long period of time.

A package including Bogut would definitely entice me though, I'd put Chandler and Diaw up for him but neither work straight up and you guys don't have much else that fits our needs, so a third party would be necessary to facilitate something

Obviously, if we were interested in a cap-clearing deal, we would be rebuilding, and thus would not part with a 1st round rookie under any circumstances. Plus Nazr Mohammed would be an expiring in the offseason (plus he's playing well), meaning it makes no sense to trade him if we want salary help.

So it would have to be more like Redd/2nd for Diop/Diaw.

I don't think people are very interested in rebuilding right now since we are playing well, but we might reach this stage again by the end of the season if we miss the playoffs.

Payroll means nothing in the NBA, unless you are deliberately rebuilding and are 20+ million below the cap, which we still will be in 2011 if we don't have a draft pick this year. Even with Jax, Wallace, Diaw, Diop, Hendo, Augustin we'll only be around 37 million. I doubt we resign Felton to anything more than 6 million, and I doubt we resign Ajinca, Chandler, or Nazr at this point.

Then we'd only have 6 players on the roster. To fill it out we'd need to spend at least 10m more, and that's assuming everyone is a relatively young veteran or rookie.

Realistically our cap space is still shot for 2011 without a trade.

Yuck. There is absolutely no benefit to us in that trade. Why would we be concerned with our financial future when our front office is trying to win NOW? Every move we make is geared towards hopefully making us a better team, and Michael Redd is not a winning team player.

Ya, this is a stinker.

Diaw >>>> Redd
Henderson >>>>>>>>>>> Ukic
Nazr >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> over a 2nd round pick

Plus, Jax >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Redd so Redd wouldn't even start for us.
