What Do We Need The Most V.2.?

Back on Nov 12th I started a thread asking "what do the Bobcats need more"?
viewtopic.php?f=53&t=957696&start=039% of the voters said a SG Who Can Create His Own Shot At Will (and actually score). A further 39% said a True Post Scorer.
It would "appear" that we might have solved the SG problem with the addition of Jax - who not only creates his own, but also creates for others.
Post scoring remains a problem, although it has looked to me that Boris has been attacking the rim and backing his defender down a lot more of late. Maybe he is slowly making the adjustment from play maker to offensive PF?
So that brings me to this thread. What do we need now to put us up, and safely, over the hump?

Better play from our backup pg's. Murray has been scoring well but is shooting at a piss-poor clip. Augustin has just been awful. If our guards play better, then our bench plays better, and thus our bench gets more playing time.

More minutes for our 2 rookies.

I worry about Crash getting beat up defending the 4 spot. I'd love a backup that can score too, but I think its more important that we have a guy that can defend thus freeing up Gerald.

I agree. I voted for using our bench more. The deeper we are, the better we are IMO.

Honestly, I would love to see us just cut down on the turnovers, hit our free-throws at a better percentage, and keep the injuries to a minimum. But going off the poll options, I would rank them...
1. Better play from our backup PGs
2. Better play from our starting C
3. More playing time for our bench
4. An offensive backup PF
5. More post scoring
6. A defensive back up PF

When the injury bug hits, our rooks are going to be tested (hopefully). Brown loves his vets but guys like Derrick and Gerald are worth taking a few losses for to give each a few 30 minute games. Augustin needs to play more like Flip, he isn't a pure point and shooting well is the only thing that keeps him on the floor. But it isn't all DJ's fault, Flip is taking a lot of DJ's shots away and Coach needs to learn how to use these 2 guys together. We do need a backup pf, but just someone to jump in when we need some size to box out and rebound. That's not a difficult gap to fill and we play pretty well with our small lineup anyway.

Flip and DJ don't mix IMO. a couple of guys who need the ball in their hand, shoot a lot, and don't play great defense. DJ/Hendo is really a perfect fit. Gerald gives the size athleticism that DJ can't, while DJ provides the ball-handling and shooting that are not Hendo's strong suit.
Of course that only works if DJ can break out of his slump....
LB just needs to tell DJ to go out and shoot whenever he feels like it, if he goes 0-10 so be it.....

Our biggest need is a quality starting C, second I would say is post defending, third post scoring. Wallace turned it on and is our main post scorer now it seems.
Backup PG's are horrendous, but that's probably 4th on my list. I would expect DJ and/or Flip to get better this year.

Exactly, I'd rather see DJ go out there and shoot ground zero one night and lose us the game in order to see him score 27 another night than see a timid weakling backing down to Flip "freaking" Murray. Hopefully he starts competing for that spot soon. This is really his rookie season since last year he didn't have any real competition for time.

Not sure why you limited the PF spot to being a backup. Diaw is good, but I think we could improve more if we have a banger who can score and rebound.

Center. Chandler is killing the team in ways big and small. *If* he were playing better then he could log minutes at PF and that problem would be solved too. *If* he were playing better then then it would take pressure off the other starters and the bench could possibly be played more.

No he isn't. His boxing out has been amazing and his defense is superior to Mohammad's

He must have been boxing out amazingly last season too, then. Right now, he's average nearly exactly (.1 off) as many rebounds per 40 minutes as he did a season ago (10.9), which was well below what he averaged the five years prior to that injury-plagued season.
Meanwhile, Mohammed is averaging an impressive 12.8 rebounds per 40 minutes. I'm inclined to believe that LB isn't stupid enough to tell his athletic 7'1 center to simply boxout while he allows his vertically challenged 6'10 center to snatch boards.

1. Better play from Chandler ( i still dont understand why we traded Okafor away)
2. More playing time for our Rookies.
3 A Backup PF (scoring PF)
