Wide open shots

Post#1 » by Rich4114 » Mon Dec 28, 2009 8:26 pm

Why the hell can't we seem to hit wide open shots? Do we have anyone who can hit open jumpers? Felton's been doing a ton of driving into the paint and kick outs lately to wide open guys who either hesitate on the jumper or just completely brick it. I actually wish we could get Carroll back for Diop. He would be hitting those shots, he was deadly as a spot up jump shooter. Or even Kapono or someone. Now, if Jackson isn't on we don't have a reliable outside shot on those opportunities.

It's kind of amazing that Wallace is as bad of a jump shooter as he is because he's actually a pretty good FT shooter. Diaw is just horrendous. We need a center but we also need some effing shooters. I guess that was supposed to be Flip's job but he can't be a spot up shooter if he's our backup PG on even days (DJ is the back PG on odd days).

Wallace thinks too much sometimes when he's out on the permiter. When he's ready to shoot he's fine. When he's presented with a choice he hesitates out there. Overthinking leads to some of those misses.

Tonight vs the Bucks the team passed on several open shots mid 24 in order to run down the clock ... and ended up taking much worse shots with 1/2 seconds left. That was driving me more crazy than the open jumpters. Flip, DJ, and several other guys can hit the kinds of shot you are talking about Rich, but other things. like the offence, are getting in the way.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody
