T-Mac On The Block

It's being widely reported that T-Mac is done in Houston and both parties have agreed to work on a trade.
Just kicking things around and was wondering if would you trade:
Chandler, Jax and Law
for
T-Mac and Landry
?
It works, but would have to wait until Jan 16th.
It gets us out of Chandler and Jax's contracts, gives us a back up PF and provides us with a productive player who could be our closer PLUS a massive amount of salary space for next summer?
Felts . T-Mac . Crash . Boris . Nazzy
DJ . Flip . Hulk . Landry - Gana
(with Hendo, UPS and Lexy rocking the pine)

For the sake of freeing ourselves of some contracts, yes. I don't think it would make us better this year though and would probably make us worse. I think T-Mac is pretty much done.

T-Mac isn't done and he's willing to prove it. Even if he's injured, he's a better player than Jax will ever be.
And hell yes, I would do that trade. The only problem is that Landry is pretty much untouchable.

I'm with GWallace3. T-mac is supposed to be healthy, so we'd have our superstar and he has a local connection so maybe the Cats can use that angle to get people to care. If it fails, he's a massive expiring. I think it's too much to hope for Landry as well, but it would be a great deal for us.

Ya, not going to lie, I wondered if that might be a sticking point.
What if it was Chuck Hayes instead of Landry?
Still pull the trigger?

It would mean that Gana or Lexy would have to play significant mins as our back up C and that Nazzy continues the great form he has shown this season.
You ok with that?

I just don't see Houston going for that deal, even with Hayes in place of Landry. I guess I could live with Hayes as a reserve 4, but I still don't think Diaw is our solution there as a starter.
This would be a "blow it up" special, as it would acknowledge Chandler's failure here, and provide a clear message of "second thoughts" on Jax. Could Mac help us more than Jax? I think so, but I'd prefer we not face a dilemma about re-signing him. No matter how well he woud play, he'd want BIG money next year.
If we're going to take a lot of contracts and turn them into cap space, this could be a great opportunity to do it. I just think the Rockets can do better than this deal.

Yea, I'd be okay. That's basically the situation we're in already and maybe Diaw would start to play like he did before the JACKson trade.

No way Houston gives up Landry for what we're sending out. But yeah, even with Hayes, I'm still for it.

Even if it's Dorsey, I would still do it.

this trade sucks....landry is a player but t-mac is done even when healthy he looks slow and old...as much as i would love to get out from under jacksons contract...the bobcats have sold there soul for the playoffs this season and we need to ride that out

would hate to lose cpt jack, but would love to see t-mac play like the all-star he is next to gforce, but the thing is we still wouldnt have a real low post threat at the pf spot.

I feel like the best thing we could get out of a trade like this is to get rid of some long term contracts since T-Mac is an expiring. Then maybe we can trade our cap room for Okafor or J-Rich back, lol.

I don't see how this trade helps us. If it were a trade to have cap room for this upcoming FA class then yes it be a good trade. As far as basketball is concerned, I wouldn't do it.

ahhhh yessss, the good old days of Okafor and J-Rich. I'm all for bringing back the two who helped lead us to that fantastic winning percentage of 39%.
Hopefully you weren't serious.

Okafor is killing the Hornets. They will be a 32 win team despite being relatively healthy. He's bound to be a perennial loser.

You wouldn't take J-Rich over Jackson and/or Okafor over Chandler right now? I can see the argument for Jax over J-Rich but no way in hell you can convince me Okafor leaving in favor of Chandler helped us. There's just no way.

can't argue with that, you're right. We have no PF. And the passing Diaw brings to the table is pretty useless when half of them go out of bounds or into defenders chests.
