Wizards Fire Sale
It started with Arenas, but things aren't going well in Washington, and according to the Post, players are conceeding that the Wiz will be cleaning house very soon.
We took advantage of one bad situation and got Stephen Jackson. What should we target from Washington and how can we make a deal that will work for us?
I've heard people talk about dealing for Jamison, and while I still would love to have him here, his contract would have to be offset with equally toxic salary. Diaw and stuff probably gets that done, but what mix of players works?
I love Blatche, and he seems to be a problem case there also. Maybe there's reasons not to touch the guy, but he's got skills and size I'd love to have here at the 4. Just wonder if Larry could work his magic with a guy like that and turn his game/attitude around?

I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Jamison is the only guy I'd see us making a move for, and like you mentioned Diaw is really the only guy who would make sense to swap for. I don't see us making any more big moves this year really.

And that's the point. Do you really think one of our overpaid big man + filler would be enough to get Haywood? No. Haywood is a 10/10 player and he has an expiring contract. It's nearly impossible to get him without giving up one of our assets (DJ, UPS,..), but I'm not willing to make such a deal. I'm fine with Chandler, Nazr and Diop at the moment.

Re: Wizards Fire Sale
diaw and dj for jamison.
it works.
not sure why the wiz would do it. diaw and jamison have same length deal. they would only do this if they really loved dj.
you could also add hendo and javaris into the deal to make it more appealing for the wiz.

Diaw, DJ and Henderson for Jamison and the assassin? Now it's official, Jamison just became the most overrated player on this board.

Diaw = 0
DJ = Felton light (and we have Felton already in case you missed it)
Henderson = in the vicinity of 0 (Brown says he could be good - which means he probably won't be)
Jamison = a PF, you know - the position we have none of.
Diop/Nazr/Tyson
Jamison
Wallace
Jackson
Felton
That's a team that might actually win a playoff series.

Re: Wizards Fire Sale
from a rumor a long time ago... apparently MJ was high on javaris when he was coming out. he is still young, he's big and can play both spots.
you gotta give up something to get a player like jamison. he's probably the last player the wiz want to move. he is a class act and probably the only guy holding that locker room together. oh yeah, he still gets you 20 and 10 in his sleep. and he's from charlotte and a fan fave.
assuming we plan to resign felts, we can live w/out dj. and if we resign murray we can live w/out henderson.
anyway... just a thought.

and if we plan to win we can live without giving Diaw any significant minutes on the court.

MJ was also the one who wanted to trade Crash for TJ Ford.

Crittenton is plain garbage. He has D-league written all over him. If you don't believe me, go ask the Wizards board.
Jamison = a PF, you know - the position we have none of.
BS. Pau Gasol is a PF, Carlos Boozer is a PF, Landry is a PF, but not Jamison. Hell, Diaw is more of a PF than Jamison will ever be. He's a shooting guard in a SF/PFs body who always plays perimeter oriented and is garbage on the defensive end. We already have enough scorers in the backcourt and our missing piece is a scoring presence in the low post.
Diaw = 0
DJ = Felton light (and we have Felton already in case you missed it)
I don't even know what you're trying to say.

Again, Jamison isn't worth it to give up those assets.

How can a team live without a backup point guard?

That would be stupidly over paying for Jamison IMO.

Jamison would not fit in on this team at all. Sucks at rebounding, cannot defend the post, can't rebound, can't play big = not worth the risk on our part.

Re: Wizards Fire Sale
Trading Diaw for Jamison would make us worse, much worse if you ask me. Diaw has fallen on this boards really quickly. Sure his production has taken a hit this season, but the team is playing better. And if you paid attention in games since Chandler is out, the Bobcats are playing almost half a game with Diaw at C. Jamison could never guard any C's in this league, he scores more than Diaw and rebounds better but he is not as versatile as Diaw and sure not the defender we need. We are good because our defense is top notch, adding Jamison would destroy that. Plus Jamison is not really a low post scorer so he would not add a new dimension to our offense.
I think we shouldn't trade Diaw at this point since his value is low, we have to take advantage of this situations and be patient just like we were so far. We basically traded Jrich, Dudley and Morrison for Diaw and Jackson and now we look like a legit playoff team, lets not trade anyone from our starting unit and ruin what we have going. And if I would come to this board a year ago offering Diaw and DJ for Jamison I would get banned
Lets have some faith in our players both DJ and Diaw are showing some improvements in last games and I think when playoffs come around we will be happy to have them both.

Stupidly over paying for Jamison? You are lost. Jamison is averaging 22 and 9 and is shooting well. Diaw is an inconsistent joke at the PF spot. DJ can't break 40% shooting. Henderson is averaging 3 ppg. Jamison is outscoring him - just counting his free throws alone. I haven't used the "homer" term in awhile but I need to dust it off.

There isn't a GM in the league that wouldn't give up Diaw and DJ for Jamison. Are you seriously thinking otherwise? Jamison is not a good defender but his scoring and rebounding will allow our best defender, Wallace, to not spend most of his energy trying to frantically grab every rebound. Diaw isn't a better defender than Jamison is a scorer. Its ludicrous to think this team wouldn't be better with Jamison rather than Diaw.
