No. 4 in the NBA !?

Post#1 » by ohara » Thu Jan 21, 2010 11:44 am

http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/powerrankings

We have been playing great ball recently. But Hollinger's automatic rankings has us jumping from 10th to 4th in the entire NBA. Had to post it now as I dont know if we will ever get this high again. But we could climb higher IF we take out ATL and ORL in the next couple games. But enjoy it while it lasts!

And check this: http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/playoffodds

Champs = Likelihood of winning the NBA title - we are forth with 7.7% after Cavs, Lakers and Jazz

So everytime soem random general board poster will claim we are overrated on RealGM, just post him this type of links saying we are actually severely underrated.

The playoff odds have us projected at winning 47 games. I really can't believe this. Simply awesome.

Keep it up guys!!

Fourth huh? Wow!

Just imagine if we had Okafor. We would be favored to win the NBA title.

Don't be so sure. We have been playing extremely good ball with Nazr on C and Diaw fitting that spot on later.

With Okafor, Lineup Diaw-Wallace-Jackson-Flip-Felton might not have been there.

At least, good enough to have it now.

The big test is ahead... how do we handle this upcoming road trip. The energy needs to stay the same like it has at home and we should be able to win against anyone. Won't win in the playoffs unless you win road games.

Really? Thanks for informing me. I didn't realize Okafor wasn't much of a loss at all.

To be honest, I didn't like that fella. He had awful hands and Jackson dishing ball to him, 90% would have been turnovers. At least Nazr and else can catch some of them. Anyway, Chandler aint much better on catching those balls.

We should trade Chandler for starter caliber PF...

EDIT: That's a fact that Okafor contract and Jackson contract would not have been there together. That would be TOOO MUCH committed money for this franchise. I take Jackson over Okafor ANY TIME!

I never liked that fella either. You misunderstood my first post.

I'm not so eager to trade him right now. If TC gets healthy, he provides depth and defense in the paint which is vital for playoff success. I would look to deal one of our guards for a PF.

Bingo! Plus TC's contract can be a good trade chip this summer.

what do you guys expect out of our next 8 games? we have a tough stretch ahead. i think 3-5 or 4-4 would be very respectable.

He's actually much worse. And your "fact" is not a fact by any means.
Humble yourself.

Based on recent form?

12-0

Even though we only play 8 games, 12-0.

Not surprising, given the blowout of the Heat. Our scoring margin has been really good in this win streak. Most likely we taper off a little bit, but it's pretty strong vindication of how good this team can be when it's clicking. Maybe, just maybe, this is a threatening team.
