Does anybody think they will let Raymond walk?

Post#1 » by Dexmor » Fri Jan 22, 2010 6:01 am

On the Espn board somebody said they have came out and said they won't get into the luxary tax no matter what.
Now when they said they we were A bad team and it was understandable and Ray was a turnover machine and couldn't shoot.
Now he shoots great with 40% from 3 and 46% from 2.
D.J. is also not an LB pg even though LB thought he was.

So my question to you is do you think they would get into the luxary if that is what it took to keep him?
I think letting him walk would be worse then George Shinn and would be borderline Don Sterling because they would go from a team who could compete for homecourt to lotto bound all because they didn't want to pay just 1 year because the following year they are under the cap by alot so it's literally total only 1 milliion per.

So does anybody think they will let him walk?

Before the season started, I would have said he is gone 100%. But as DJ has, I dont know if regressed is the right word, but he sure hasn't progressed my mind has shifted to think that the powers that be will try to do whatever they can within reason to sign him. THIS is really pointless until we know what happens with the trade deadline moves. If we get boozer, or another expiring contract or rental, it would provide room to keep ray ray. I think he is too much of an LB guy to not keep him. So basically, NO CLUE...but lets just enjoy this season of awesomeness and worry aboot next season, next season.

I think they re-sign Felton, and it could be at an even higher price than the contract offer he originally was given. Isn't that wild? Early on we all said how stupid Felts was to turn down that deal, and he was outta here. But one great trade later (for Jax) and suddenly Felton is pretty good. And he really is pretty good, with quality players around him, and when he plays within himself.

What are our options? We will likely have no draft pick in next year's deep draft (THANKS STUPID FRONT OFFICE/LB) so we can't fill a need from there. DJ is absolutely not ready to run this team, and never will be. He just doesn't seem to have it in him, physically or mentally, to be a starting-caliber PG in this league. He's struggling enough to just be a quality back-up. In a run and gun system like Golden State, or maybe even with the Knicks, he might do better.

So yes Felton stay's home. I'm sure they are thinking about these things as they survey the league for trades. Need a PF, need to shed some salary,.....getting hard to pull off any more miracles.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.
