I posted it in the game thread, but I also want to know what you guys think his production will be now that we are a much better team than we were before he went down.

I think he will work well with the 2nd unit... as long as DJ can correctly throw a lob.. Not many backup bigs in the league have the size/power of Tyson Chandler...so it will be interesting to watch.

Hopefully LB will do what he hinted at doing at the start of the season and play TC at the 4. It would go a long way in filling the major hole that we currently have.

Let Nazzy and Gana hold down the 5 spot.

Nice balance and complimentary players to each other IMO.

Looks like Bonnell will have to start a new entry titled, "Tyson Chandler: Remarkably Slow Healer."

I think Tyson can help us, because our backup center at the moment is pretty crappy and we don't even have a backup four. As a matter of fact, by the looks of it, we don't even have a starting-caliber four, so there's a ton of opportunity for Tyson to make an impact. I don't think anyone expected him to be this bad, and he's played much better in past seasons, so he can only get better from here on out--I hope. I think it'll take far more than Augustin being able to throw lob passes to get this guy going offensively (we would need someone like, say, Chris Paul), but I do think he can help us out on the boards, be a goalie at the rim, and help out our pick and roll defense. I honestly don't want to see him and Felton or Augustin in pick and rolls on offense, because that usually ends not so well. That's what I think we'll miss most if Chandler takes Diop's minutes. For all his faults, Diop can set some killer screens.

I think he is - providing the match up suits. He's long and athletic I don't think he would have any problem guarding a guy like David West.

My only concern would be how quickly he might pick up cheap fouls.

If Tyson can provide some defensive presence in the paint and take some of the rebounding load off of Wallace then he'll do what he needs to do. 25 minutes and 8/10/2 would alright by me.

That would be really impressive, which is why it won't happen. 8/10/2 in 35 minutes is what I would consider "alright" and far more realistic.

Changed the title due to him not actually coming back tonight.

Maybe we can use his contract to land someone worth a damn, like Amare.

He couldn't put up those sorts of numbers before he was injured.
He couldn't put up those sorts of numbers in 32mpg last season.
He's only ever averaged double digit rebounding TWICE in his entire career - and in those seasons he was playing 35mpg.
Why would you think he would magically start averaging double digit rebounding now in 10 less mpg?

How I'd want them to be distributed:

PF: Diaw- 28 minutes, Chandler- 12 minutes, Crash- 8 minutes (necessarily evil)
C: Chandler-16 minutes, Nazr- 27 minutes (even though he doesn't get that now, so no reason to think LB would actually do this), Gana- 4 minutes

How I think they WILL be distributed:

PF: Diaw-28 minutes, Crash- 15 minutes, UPS- 5 minutes
C: Chandler- 26 minutes, Diaw-9 minutes, Nazr-13 minutes

Either:

(1) Tyson conjured up more of his false bravado and figured he was going to play through the "uncomfortable"-ness of his injury and make a point of returning against his old team, and he backed down at the last minute. End result? Pussy.

Or,

(2) Brown wanted to see what Chandler had in him, so he said he was going to activate him as motivation against his former team. After all, it's been several weeks since Chandler said that his injury waas merely "uncomfortable," so he should be good to go, right? Well, Chandler does his best Stewart impression from MADtv (Noooooooooooooo! Doooooooooooooon't!) and Brown leaves him inactive. End result? Pussy.
