Interesting that Celtics fans really don't want the trade. Maybe there's more to Big Baby than meets the eye?

Well on ESPN anyway. The Celtics board loves it.
I don't get it...seems like we could get a much better player, by including DJ in a package.

I just went and had a look and here are some of the things they are saying:
Get'r done.
Agreed, when can we do that trade, yesterday?
That would be nice. 2 years ago I wouldn't believe in saying such a thing, cuz I was a big baby fan, but he just isn't the same any more, not even as a person.
Get Big baby outta here!!
GET BIG BABY OUTTA HERE.

i am not going to lie i kinda like big baby game....but he is just so dumb actting and out of shape....he could be a beast if he slim down but after McMay i dont ever want to go down that road......if it makes you feel any better most trades once they get to espn are already dead

Celts fan here, to be fair, the responses have much more to do with the possibility of having a distributor on the bench better than Eddie House than it is a dissatisfaction with Big Baby's game.

Bonnell says the Bobs are inquiring about Rasheed Wallace with Big Baby.

I am not a fan of DJ and I have been clamoring for a legitimate 4 but I am not sure Davis is what I had in mind. Big Baby strikes me as a player that needs the strong veteran leadership of a Garnett or Pierce to stay in line and stay focused. He performed well in the playoffs last year but I don't think he has the defensive mindset or the conditioning to thrive on the Bobcats.

Rasheed would make us a better team but for how long? I feel like that's another one of those short term deals where we get screwed long term.
I'm actually more interested in Tryus Thomas. The bulls have been horrendous at managing their player relationships lately and a guy like that in the right system with the right team leaders could do very well.

I could see Davis being a player that Larry Brown thinks he can "coach up", and help him grow up. It's certainly possible. He has a better game than May, and (to my knowledge) no lingering physical issues other than weight. I liked his perfomance in the playoffs...that showed me something. Still, the mental/character issues are a flag. If it were DJ for Davis, I could see it as a deal of young for young, potential for potential, with the caveat that Davis has playoff experience.
I'd hope they would try to get a better deal done for a stronger player. Rasheed would be like a playoff band-aid, but he represents no true future investment. I don't want an 8th seed that badly. Still, he would be a boost over Diaw.
The Tyrus Thomas option is my favorite, although we're not likely to have the right mix of players to pull that off. He has his own issues, but I think Larry Brown could do something woth that young man.

I think Baby would play really good if started...he has that min drange jumper, can get to the rim, can make circus shots...
He really played amazing during last year playoffs...Also he is cheap on 3 mio per year 2 year contract
In a way I would like him to stay in BOS, but we really need a pg and also we would be better with athletic, rebounding pf than baby

With both players at full health, Big Baby can't hold May's jockstrap. Davis is a below average basketball player with no upside. Stupid trade; no thanks.

Does this pretty much make DJ for Big Baby a lock?

I don't know why the Bobcats are looking to deal Augustin when they would have Acie Law and Flip Murray left as Felton's backup.
I'd love to see the Knicks get involved, as stated earlier with the Nate to Boston swap. I wonder if they could give backup PG insurance to Charlotte with Duhon and give some depth and versatility in Jared Jeffries to Beantown.
With all these BYC issues, I have no clue how the numbers would work...but would be very interested to see something propsed along these lines.

We do like Davis to an extent. Keep in mind, he was our starter when we pushed Orlando to seven games last year and had that big shot and baby push for us to look back on. The thing is, at least with Sheed here, Davis is completely redundant. Everything he does, Sheed does as well or better, except Davis has a little more desire to take it to the rim. I do actually think it's a fair trade, but we absolutely love it as Celtics fans because it takes from our most oversaturated position and gives to what has been one of our biggest needs since the KG trade.
