Would You Do This?

Cats Send: Nazr Muhammad + Dansagna Diop + Gearld Henderson

Warriors Send: Monta Ellis + Ronny Turiof

Why? Jordan shows that he's willing to spend + they get a guy who can carry there offense.
Warriors dump Ellis and gain an intresting prospect

Note: This is from an outsiders perspective and i could be completely wrong

I like it because we can answer the question "what if Larry Brown coached the warriors?"

Yes. Anything to get out of Diop's contract...and we get Ellis!?

NO.

Willing to spend and spending foolishly are 2 different things. Monta Ellis is not a team player and certainly not a Larry Brown type player. He chucks up a TON of shots and also gets lots of assists. That means he's a BALL HOG who dominates the ball every time on offense. He is Stephon Marbury on steroids if you know what I mean. No thanks, can't go far with those types of players.

His teammates must hate playing with him. The only thing that eases the feelings of Monta's teammates is the fact that they play in a rag tag offensive system which produces a million shots per game. What will happen when Larry Brown screams at him to pass the ball at least once every possession? He will whine and pout because he's selfish. He's also a turnover machine. (again it's because he always has to have the ball in his hands)

Wow that has to be a yes. Ellis is only on the hook for 1 season beyond Diop, and unlike Diop, can actually play basketball.

has to be YES.
I can't imagine the Warriors considering that at all.

Brown liked Flip, who is a poor mans version of Ellis, I'm sure he would be happy to work with Ellis.
Would make an interesting dilemma with the roster though. who would you start? How would you spread the minutes. That is assuming we kept Felts.

No way they do that deal, but if they did, I would say yes, while saying goodbye to Felton. You'd have to make Monta the PG, even though he's not a true 1, but that's OK because he can deliver scoring that Ray can't. Yes he hogs the ball, but hopefully he would give up some of that in our system. What it would do is give us another dangerous scorer to compliment Jax and Crash. I'd start T2 and bring Diaw off the bench.

Interesting idea, but it's sort of like laying on the ground watching clouds, and naming the animal it looks like. Only has that shape for a short time, and in the end it's just a cloud....
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I'd do it, yes. But with Ellis and Jax on the court at the same time, no one else would ever get a shot. If Crash could force his way into a few shots, we would be a very dangerous team with high scoring potential.

I donmt like Eliss at all and I dont want to have him on my team but let just assume we will ttrade him further for another piece (or even that Larry and Jax could handle him).

We couldnt pass on such a trade especially when Felton is UFA. We would get did of Diop's contract (he simply didnt worked out for us), Nazr wont be as good as he was this season forever and could become injury prone, so sorry Nazr, good luck somewhere else, we loved you here. The only bad thing is losing Henderson, not that he's showed much in hisl imited PT but I still htink he was a good pick and has trememndous potential. Or better - I believe.

On the other hand I like Turiaf as a energy guy, plus he would be another Frenchman so Larry will be working with theit NT again for sure:) Ellis to me is an Arenas 2.0 waiting to happen but maybe he could be handled, who knows. I would like to trade him for someone else right away or wait few months to add fillers to his package and trade him anyway.

Funny that we would cut off all 3 bad contracts as this board viewed them last year (Vald, Nazr, Gana) and all of them would end up with Warriors.

not an ellis fan either... i think he has way too many bad habits. not sure if he would be willing to change to fit LBs style. however, it would be too hard to pass up that much talent in this deal. i would say yes, even if that meant simply looking to re-trade him.

This is completely redicoulus. Of course anybody would do this deal. They get a 25 point a game scorer plus Ronny T for dumping the contracts we don't want.

Why this is utterly redicoulus is the Warriors turned down Mayo and Thabeet for Ellis.

And battery your answer to this is no? Are you insane? We could just flip Ellis for Mayo and Thabeet. I think that would be worth it.

I think the only reason the warriors would do this if they just wanna get rid of Montas contract.

Reason why they could/should do this (but they wont; be realistic).

- if they would need to get rid of Monta ASAP, not only because of his contract
- if they would decide they want some real big men besides Beans
- if they stop the whole Nellie ball thing
- if Ellis would become cancer
- if Monta would go banans some random way Arenas style
- if Stern would want to help us :D
- if they would get merged with the Clippers with all the consequences (this way Henderson would be bound to have a bad injury within a year from the trade)

Normally, I would say yes to this trade. But there are so many question marks about what things will look like under the new CBA I really do not want to get hamstrung by an exorbitant contract under the existing CBA.

   :noway: :noway: :noway: Absolutely No Way.
Lets try to keep what we have in off season and try somehow to sign Felton and Thomas.
We absolutely don't need any more guards especially not Ellis.
I believe MJ feels the same.
