Trade with Minnesota?

Post#1 » by Kevin_Love_42 » Fri Apr 2, 2010 8:05 pm

How available is DJ Augustin and what would you trade him for?
I was working with some Timberwolves scenarios where Jonny Flynn is moved leaving the Wolves with a bit of a PG need. DJ would be a good fit for the Wolves because he is a shooter. I came up with a trade looking for some Cats opinions.

-Ramon Sessions and Ryan Gomes for DJ Augustin and Boris Diaw
Ramon would be Felton's backup who would be more of a game manager while Raymond Felton would be more of the playmaker. Ryan Gomes is a good player who would be better suited coming off of the bench. I could see both players fitting well with Larry Brown. I added Boris Diaw just in case you guys wanted to dump some cash but he can be taken out if you guys would rather keep him.

I probably pull the trigger on the proposed trade.

Um, I want nothing to do with Ramon Sessions contact. I don't know a whole lot about Gomes but there's no way this makes sense right?

The one thing I like about that trade is that it lops off 3.4 million from the payroll so that may potentially solve the lux tax situation. This is assuming that they can't dump Naz or TC and that Felts and TT don't take MJ to the cleaners in negotiations.

Possible that Minnesota has the cap space to absorb the difference? Too lazy to check.

Check yourself - I'm not really a capologist to answer that : http://www.storytellerscontracts.info/r ... laries.htm

Currently they are over the cap but next they won't pay some stars like The Human Victory Cigar any more so it may be the way.

Outside of an improvement in talent (which I don't think this idea is in either case) I'd only trade DJ if we could include Gana into the deal.

Could you add anymore than just that?

And yes, I am aware of the numbers not matching up. Its an offseason trade since Minnesota would have a lot of extra cap space to do a lop sided trade (cap wise)

Why can't we have Flynn? We have no use for Sessions and Gomes. Two stiffs who play for the worst team in the Western conference.

are you kidding me? There's is absolutely no reason for us to do such a trade.

We badly need 3point shooters on this team and you want us to trade DJ for a guy who shoots 7% from downtown? And I think I don't have to explain how much of a better player Diaw is, in comparison with Gomes, contracts excluded

YES YES YES.
Sessions is awesome. I would do it for Sessions alone because it would give us cap relief to resign Thomas and the rest and maybe even get another 4 but with Gomes thats just bonus.

You can't be serious. I wish there was a button I could press that would instantly obliterate your post from the internet.

sessions is so awesome he is backing up a rookie. yeah, sign me up.

diaw may not be the greatest pf ever, he may be frustrating at time, but i swear he gets no respect. diaw is the best player in that deal.
