Well thanks for fixing the quotes, and it seems like the mandatory "someone's posted so you should double check yours to make sure it's not redundant/unnecesary" thing no longer exists.

Seems like the site is moving a bit faster, too. Or maybe that's because I downloaded adblock.

Some Updates for those of you who keep complaining...

1. Quick Reply box WILL be brought back, but not until after the NBA draft.

2. Quoting color will be fixed ASAP.

3. Forum colors will be changed to tans that resemble the old board "in the near future".

Actually, you beat me to the post I just posted and it did pop up. I think that feature is still here.

Kno, thanks for relaying the messages to us members. You guys are doing an amazing job. I like the layout, and minor tweaks would make it perfect.

One word that will solve everything......

vbulletin

Have you guys seen a vbulletin forum? They are pretty cool and very functional. Let me find an example....

http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/

Nice and simple, yet functional.

Edit : So I found this on another site......

vBulletin (Owned License) : 160$ each
vBulletin (Leased License) : 85$ each

The owned vBulletin Forum license allows you to run the software on your site indefinitely. Along with this license, you will receive one year of free updates. Beyond the first year, you will have to pay a nominal fee, currently $30, to obtain updates for an additional year. While The leased vBulletin Forum license allows you to use the software on your site for 1 year and gives you access to products updates for that year. After 1 year, you must renew your license or remove the software from your site.

I thought it was going to be more than this. Why not pay the $160 for an indefinite license? If you really don't want to spend money we could EASILY reach that money with donations from posters. I think it is well worth the investment considering the amount of traffic this site receives. If you really want to expand into large NFL, MLB, NHL boards as well I think vbulletin is almost a necessity. This certainly won't cut it.

Kno, you're right. The "mandatory re-evaluate post" is still there. My bad. Any word on what they're going to do with that feature? Thanks for keeping us posted - I wanted to read the "bugs" thread but couldn't get access.

I, too, am wondering why admins chose not to go with vbulletin. But it seems like this will end up fine when the kinks are worked out. But for all this, I hope RealGM will be running smooth as silk on draft night.

i dont know if its possible but is there anyway that you can make it so that we get to choose which style of the forum to use.. like a drop down menu with the 2 versions or something to choose from or something like that.

I would make the TOPIC title larger. So that it is bigger than the icon. Ideally making the icon smaller could accomplish the same. The reason I say that is that it makes the topic look diminutive, and those are the most crucial. You want to be able to see the topics stand out at a quick glance NOT the icons. Perhaps a stronger blue for the topic can make it stand out more.

Also, why the narrow pane? Lots of widescreens out there now, in fact both of my monitors are wide screen and there is a lot wasted real-estate. (I still have not checked user profile if this is addressed on a user by user basis)

The whole "save option" is a bit annoying... not that it is not functional, but in reality how often is it used? Once out of 100 times? It shouldn't be the first option in that group, it should be separate from submit and preview... perhaps far left or right.

Posting picture beyond the 400x400 range... this can suck for those of us who would like to post tables and stats that can be easily viewed without clicking a link. This size limit should be increased and instead Kbyte limit put forth in its place.

Also ---->"At least one new post has been made to this topic. You may wish to review your post in light of this." <--- this is very anoying, I know that it is intended to prevent duplicity from multipe users, but I have been blocked like three times on a popular thread... and in all honesty this can be more anoying then beneficial to the isolated case.

Other than that, I am starting to like and become more accustomed to the look... I feel a little silly for freaking out initially as the changes weren't as foreign as they first looked. My shock was due to a tied identity with the site rather than reason. The quick changes to the quoting and edit functions reassured me that every effort is being taken to make the transition seamless.

Yeah, I mentioned this in the Bugs forum, hopefully something can be done to reduce the amount of mouse clicks required to make a post.

Just testing. MF. I've posted 2 responses and hit submit... stupid thing didn't take. getting tired of this, should have left it alone. don't want to think, just vent. doesn't clear up soon go to a different board. shame, good posters here. New format just sucks.

The combination of background colour and font text makes it very hard to see.

Eh... it's ok. It did take me some time just to find the 'post reply' button (granted I am high right now).

Like others said, the quick reply and quoting definitely needs to be addressed, and I also think some of the layout/sizing of things could use tweaking, especially the wiretap. But other than those things, I don't have a problem with the new look, it's just gonna take some time to get used to.
