$18 per year is reasonable imo.

Woah.

Take note everyone when your guy gets overpaid. This is a canary in the coal mine- get ready for some wild numbers.

This is totally fair value for what Williams might be. Rough factoring in the risk factor.

Injuries got to him. Bit inconsistent but glimpses of potential is there. Definitely not The Guy though

Very cheap, relatively speaking to some of the fellow lotto players in his draft class.

I was super high on him during that draft but I think starting him as a rookie hampered his development. Injuries didn't help.

Although it's a relatively small contract, it's still one he has to live up to.

He absolutely HAS NOT earned this. His play earned him 5 years/40 million maybe. The Bulls are being generous here. I want to believe in P-Will so bad, but dude keeps teasing me.

Slightly more than midlevel for a guy who hasnt been mid level quality throughout his career. Definitely an overpay for his current production, but i guess Chicago is paying for potential here (tho dude hasnt exactly impressed with his ability to improve)

Bad deal, but an understandable bad deal.

He just needs to stay healthy to justify that contract. His numbers won't wow you, and he's been a let down for tsuch a high pick, but Pat is a solid player who has the potential to be a Shane Battier type.

The people who don't get this are missing that he is an elite 3-D player, has shot 41% from 3 for his career, and was impressive on the defensive side of the ball last season. His offensive roll should increase now that it looks like the Bulls are moving on, and his size and defense on the wings is what every team is after. Locking him up on a friendlyish deal isn't that bad, especially now that the cap is going up every year by 10%.

This team now has two wings, 2 guards, and will be looking to add another young prospect with potential after this year as a core. Not bad.

He's only 23, so this was a no brainer signing to me, and hope he can stay healthy next year so we can see what the Bulls have.

Please trade Lavine and let DeRozen walk, this Bulls team looks fun, and I want these dudes to get the opportunity to actually touch the ball this year.

Hoping this is a declining deal, front loads the pain and the Bulls really have nothing to spend money on this year aside from lottery balls anyway.

I get paying a young player on potential, but he hasn’t gotten better at a single thing since he was a rookie and his stats have been basically identical for all 4 years - I think he is what he is and I’m not sure what he is justifies this contract. His best hope is they get rid of DDR, Lavine, and Vuc and SOMEONE has to score.

It's 100% a potential deal. Pat will make 2 or 3 plays a game usually in the first quarter that make you sit up and go holy **** pay this kid and then he'll be Casper the friendly ghost for the next 36 minutes. Hopefully getting rid of DeMar and Zach and having Giddey fire the ball at his face wakes him up. :dontknow:

21 years old, RFA next year vs Caruso 30 UFA and way less versatile, though elite at his thing.

Bulls also hired a shooting coach last offseason who worked wonders with Ayo Caruso and Coby, presumably they have confidence he can help Giddy too.

Giving a dude with zero motor a 5 year deal is….interesting.

He’s an ok player in theory but has motor, hasn’t improved over time, and can’t stay healthy.
