The same way the nba and Kobe (and Lebron and Melo and James Harden) "OWE" a perecentage of their revenue / salary to Hakeem for taking his time to teach them proper footwork at his house in Houston or during practices (Harden).
So I'd say no, it's just part of the game. Those willing to learn from the best will find a way to learn from the best

Hakeem charges $100k per session, I don't remember what he does with it but there was a story that he donates it to either his mosque or his foundation.

These things are so overrated, and in fact the best players sometimes make the worst teachers. All of the hakeem nonsense was way overblown too, as if a couple sessions with someone is gonna totally transform their post game. I still havent seen tangible evidence that he made a significant dent in anyones game. Meeting Hakeem was just something you did to appear dedicated to the craft, a box to check off for some guys. Any positive impact is vastly overstated

to be fair, players forcing trades or threatening to sit out seasons is more commonplace now. So there's always the possibility of Tatum refusing to play (Kawhi) or threatening to get season ending surgery (Kyrie) just to force a trade. That said, he has a lot of potential and I expect him to stay with the Cs for a while
