Whom is the best scorer of the 21st Century, Curry or Durant?

I think Durant with his 4 scoring titles, but with that 50 point Game 7 its becoming harder to overlook Curry.... but of course Durant is the more reliable scorer in NBA Finals.
The combination of 4 scoring titles and dominating the NBA Finals with great shooting% and scoring....

KD is the better pure scorer. Curry is the better player.

It's obviously LeBron.

He set the all-time scoring record in the 21st century.

Most 50 point games:

LeBron - 15
Curry - 13
Durant - 10

Did you know that Durant's career scoring high is only 55 points? And he's only scored 55 points once.

Curry has only done it twice.

LeBron has games of 55, 56, 56, 57 and 61.

Curry scored 50 points in the first round? Cute. LeBron scored 51 in the NBA Finals.

As an aside to this, check out their averages in 50 point games:

LeBron (15 games): 53.2 points, 7.2 assists, 7.9 rebounds
Curry (13 games): 52.5 points, 5.4 assists, 5.6 rebounds
Durant (10 games): 51.8 points, 5.5 assists, 7.7 rebounds

LeBron is clearly superior to both of them.

LBJ and Curry are the 2 best but I would take Kobe over KD especially come playoffs time when things are tough and you are playing against an elite defense that the focus is all on you

Kareem (2 scoring titles) was nowhere near the scorer that MJ was (10 scoring titles).
LeBron (1 scoring title) is not the scorer that KD is (4 scoring titles).

Poor comparaison since LBJ has 6 playoffs run of 30 PPG or more in his career vs 0 for Malone when he had played at least 2 series in a playoffs year

If the argument is number of high scoring games, and LeBron has more high scoring games than Durant and Jordan has more high scoring games than Malone, how would Malone rate above Jordan by this argument?

I'd say Curry or LeBron.

Doing it as the #1 option matters in basketball more than maybe any other requirement as a scorer.

KD folds in that role mentally and shouldn't be considered for many many many picks.

Durant is great as a #2 option on a team though and playing exclusively against 1 on 1 coverage. Well before this year and last year's playoffs he was at least.
