FVV sure is a child for being a grown man. Well, he'll get to sit and think about it during his suspension.

I'd fine him $500k to really send a message. Players need to learn their lesson now so this never happens again. Anything less won't do it I'm afraid given how much money they make. I don't care that he might not have actually made contact, clearly his intent was to and that can't be excused.

Even if FVV got that foul call, its not a free throw right? Thought they changed the call a few seasons ago.

It's irresponsible, his team is rolling and he's the veteran leader, and only player that has no replacement

KPJ received 1 game for bumping into a ref back in 2019.

Although in the other thread, people are saying maybe FVV didn't actually make contact.

We'll see how stiff Silver wants to be.

Classic foul baiting in the clutch by FVV followed by more boneheadedness. Not even LBJ gets calls in the final seconds of games, what made FVV think the ref was gonna make that call. I've also seen CP3 attempt the same antics and fail miserably with the clutch foul baiting. Embiid is one of the exceptions to that rule, but that's because foul baiting is foundational when it comes to his game.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

Sheppard would get more bench minutes if VanVleet is suspended, but Amen Thompson would take over as the temporary starter.

Give him time. The season is still young.

It's a professional athlete poking a ref in the head because he rightfully didn't get a bailed out on his horrible flop.

People throw out "soft" that much on the most ridiculous things.

Agreed, theres nothing soft about having an expectation that professional athletes can control their composure when things dont go their way. It wasnt incidental, it was a player trying to intimidate a referee, there needs to be zero tolerance.

Only in the NBA thats even a question. Obviously not a foul. Come on FVV, you suppose to be a veteran leader. Very similar situation to Facu Campazzo this year in a Bayern game, tho at least Campazzo didn't make a contact with a ref, and there was far more contact on that Campazzo shot (most of you probably have no idea what I am talking about). Well, at least Sheppard might get more playing time, that should be few game suspension for Fred.

That might be the first time ever I agree with a ref. No way that was a foul on van vleets shot and the offensive call looked right too

Don't think he meant to make contact with him but he's gonna get a nice fine anyway

Not to mention, calling him a bitch right to his face.

This clip shows the angle I mentioned in the other thread from the side that shows he didn’t actually touch the ref.
