Don't you know about salary matching? You're not getting KD straight up for any of those players. :noway:

thats why one of Nembhard and Mathurin will also be included; still does not match then Pacers may use some fillers who are never used

Then we're still laughing all the way to the bank. Durant isn't going to get you there, not anymore. But good luck on trying with him.

We'll happily take Siakam and Turner off your hands for KD. While I'm less inclined with the other options, we'd take those as well. Go ahead. Get the paperwork started... so we can laugh all the way to the league office when delivering them.

KD is an expiring contract, unfortunately for the Suns. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Doesn't matter. The number is what it is for now. Contracts still need to match up in any trade. And I don't know if I'd call his expiring "unfortunate" seeing his tenure with the Suns hasn't been ideal by any stretch.

Not necessarily the Pacers, since they are already a good team even without Kevin Durant. i predict a Jalen Green + picks + scraps haul for the Suns— unfortunately.

Green is largely redundant. If anything, I'd take him and see if he's flippable elsewhere.

And the Suns have no leverage so yes you might have to settle for someone like Green— so yes a must if you can flip him for a player that is a better fit with Booker (and Beal. LOL)

From the Wiretap:

Suns Have Traction On Kevin Durant Trade, Now Considered 'Biggest Available Domino'

While there are some potential unknown trade partners for Kevin Durant, the Phoenix Suns are focused on the Minnesota Timberwolves, Houston Rockets, Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks.

"There is traction on Kevin Durant trade scenarios," said Shams Charania on Thursday's episode of NBA Today. "There are some teams motivated to get a deal done sooner rather than later."

Durant could be moved by the draft, which will take place in two weeks. Durant's trade possibilities could be tied to whether the team acquiring him is motivated to extend his contract.

Charania also alluded to the reality that Giannis Antetokounmpo is not projected to hit the trade market. The previous conventional wisdom was that Durant may have to wait until there was a resolution to Antetokounmpo's situation before he would be moved.

"He is by far the biggest available domino left on the market," added Charania.

On the one hand you're posting an article by Shams arguing that Durant is the biggest asset on the trade market, and that multiple teams want to get a deal done asap.

And then on the other hand you're arguing that the Suns have zero leverage and might have to settle for taking on a negative contract of a player who is not of positional need.

Those two things seem to contradict eachother.

i disagree with Shams, there is a bidding war for Durant (expected) but i doubt it nets you the package you want back (at the minimun, i think Phoenix gets a first round pick and a borderline star-- nothing more nothing less (+ trade fodders/salary cap fillers))

I might have missed it, but what's your take on SA's involvement in this whole thing? What's the general takeaway by Spurs fans? Would they even want Durant if it meant giving up #14 and other assets?

Rumor was #14 + Vassell + Barnes and that was ok
Seems like houston, miami and minesota are proposing more.

Good luck to KD and his next team

It would seem a lot of conjecture and speculation as to the particulars has taken root since I've heard a LOT of different things in terms of player personnel trading places. To be honest, I'd rather see him go to the EC so as to not beat the pants off us several times a year with a conference opponent.

it'll be interesting to see how this plays out - I personally don't see the Suns getting much of a haul for KD. Thinking serviceable vets to match salary, 1 first round pick and some salary cap relief. This deal will almost certainly require a 3rd team to facilitate. Hopefully it happens sooner than later

I'd take this as a good sign that your FO is being run well. KD--while a likely first ballot HOFer--is not a significant difference-maker at this point in his career. Let other teams overbid (as long as it's not Dolan... ).
RIP magnumt--you're literally why I'm still here on these boards.

If the two teams in this year's finals won in part because they're very deep and that it's kind of apparent that the Pacers are having their way with OKC because their depth is performing better then why is signing Durant a solution? it literally makes no sense for Denver to go after KD.

Denver's already depleted. they lost two guys from their ring team,,,,, Michael J Porter sucks,,, Murray is off and on. so in terms of depth they really suck and so now you're expecting them to deplete themselves even more just to get one guy who has not proven to be anything since gsw

I'm not saying Denver is a small Market team, but Durant has gone on to play in San Francisco, new York, and Phoenix and those are three big Market cities that can lay out cash

clips, Lakers, gsw, nyk, chi, Philly, bos, atl, DC are all big market teams and KD has only played for big market team since leaving okc

he now has a taste for the nite life

I think Denver is one of small number of teams that make sense. Durant in this fase of his career can't be 1st option on championship team. But were ever he goes, except Denver, he will be 1st option. In New York, do you expect him to stand aside while Brunson runs the show. In Minesotta with Ant it could look a lot like Suns with Booker. He will alter the progres of young talent in young teams - Shengun, Wemby...if he goes there. And won't win.

If he goes to Denver it means he accepted he will play off of Jokic. He is clear upgrade over MPJ, same position, and MPJ will be center of trade.
He is only one of few players I would trade MPJ for because MPJ for sh*t+sh*t doesn't make Denver better.

I agree with you on bench problems in Denver but their problem was not Brown and KCP leaving, as teams who signed them find out, their problem was bench of non NBA players - Cancar, Saric, DJ, Pickett, Tyson, Nnaji, injured rookie Holmes, Strawther and Watson. Even with vet mins you could do better than that.

Durant should be a 6th man on a contending team. All of this fuss so he can lose again in the 1st round?

Randle, DiVen, Conley, 2025 DET pick (#17), 2028 FRP Swap, 2030 FRP Swap for KD

EDIT: Actually, not sure if Suns have 28 and 30 to do pick swaps with. Pick capital is tricky for Minny, but they have the best players to help keep the Suns competitive next year with Booker.
