hard for me to choose "someone not in the league yet" because we always get surprised by MVP guys and the league is mostly Americans, so statistically it seems like some surprise MVP may be in the league already and just needs a magical season or the right situation to win one. I don't know who I would pick though.

The American player who's finished highest in MVP voting the last several years is not in the poll?

Edwards or Cade. Tatum will always be in the Luka/SGA shadow imo because they’re close in age while the other two are younger.

Sorry about that, but would you vote him? I don't know, I feel that Tatum will just never get there at this point, but thats just me. Maybe I should have put him instead of AD and Steph, but I mainly put names of whom I though people would vote on, and Tatum already didn't win with massive Boston season, I do not know what else can happening to push him, and especially with that injury, what else could happen.

But now thinking, maybe that injury could help. If Boston has a down year, and then Tatum returns fully in 2027 and is awesome, and Boston is kicking ass, he would finally have a very positive narrative.

I dunno man. I just figured the guy who has actually led all these other players in MVP voting for like 5 straight years would at least be an option.

Yes, I agree, I wish we had more poll options, because LeBron, Jaylen Brown, Mobley, J-Dubb had to be cut. I completely forgot Cade for some reason, sorry about that.

Tatum under other circumstances would be on poll for sure, but my main reason why I cut him today was simple fact he will start next season hurt. And maybe someone can argue no American winning MVP in 2026 anyway, but I wouldn't say that, next chance is next year and Tatum just wont play enough games and that for me capped his chances to make this poll. Thats my reasoning.

I believe i made a thread with this exact poll several months ago (most of my threads have polls and I like this particular topic) and Tatum I believe was on that poll for sure.

I could see Ant winning MVP although I have a hard time seeing him deserving MVP

Tatum had the best chance, but it was never a great chance. And now he's suffered a torn Achilles which will make it even more unlikely.

Flagg might have a shot at some point, but it's too early to say how good he'll be.
