All but 2 1st round picks after 9 were traded.

Something I noticed when looking at ESPN's draft board:

https://www.espn.com/nba/draft/rounds/_/season/2025

All but 2 picks (12 and 28) were traded either before the draft or are involved in announced trades. That's 19 of the last 21 picks in the first round.

I looked back at all the years going back to 2001 and although some years had more traded picks than others none were filled up with traded picks like this year.

Is this a fluke or the beginning of a trend? Picks get traded so often now it seems as it's common to see trades involving 3, 4, 5, even 6 1st rounders in trades or swaps. Are we now fully in a new era of draft picks as currency? What about teams like Brooklyn who end up holding the bag with 5 first round draft picks in the same year?

What do you guys think about this? Is this good for the NBA? Do you like how draft picks are being traded in bulk? Do you mind that teams could end up having to draft a batch of players in the same year? I'm not sure if there's really any problem but I did find it peculiar that so many picks were in trades this year.

Technically the Bulls pick was traded but it had gone to SAS in the DeRozan S&T and was returned in the Lavine/Fox deal. So it balanced out to zero or counts as traded twice
