Like Ware last year

Recent reports suggest the Suns wouldn't deal with the Heat without throwing in Ware, and Pat IMHO rightfully knocked them back.

Pat has struggled trading in recent years but he was absolutely spot on not trading a big man who has unlimited potential/ceiling in order to ring chase with Durant

Miami fans should be thankful that Pat's stubbornness has not yet resulted in them making a trade Blunder they will regret for years (Butler is selfish and washed)

Time is near for him to retire, but he is legacy at The Heat is arguably going to be bigger than his legacy at the Lakers.

The Heat GodFather.

It's possible that he didn't want to give up much for a 37 year old Durant who will be up for a contract extension, but i doubt Highsmith stopped them from making a deal.

This is all I've seen about it, but it says it's based on a report from Shams. He must have said something about it on ESPN today. There is more to the report than just Highsmith though.

I'm not convinced of Shams' accuracy re roads-not-taken. (The Fleming/Celtics rumor comes to mind, for example.)
