It's different from the Catan example because of cap implications. Like, that amount of money helps ownership but also a relatively small amount of money could make a huge difference in what moves a team can make due to the aprons. I don't really take umbrage with it.
In this case, it's likely just Reinsdorf being a cheapskate but there are greater implications to minor cap maneuvers.
