Wagner but a much better defender
Tatum but a better passer
Siakam but more skilled offensively

AK47 with significantly more on the ball skill & overall scoring ability. That's an all nba talent

Again, the only reservation (and it's more of a wait and see at worst) is that Flagg wasn't a wing in college. He was a bigman. He was basically Anthony Davis, but a 6'7 3/4" version of AD. That's still enough to physically dominate in college. We knew that AD was a legit big so he was going to do in the pros exactly what he did in college without any adjustments.

Flagg won't become an elite player in the NBA as a "smaller AD". It just doesn't work that way. He has to transition his game to more of a Tatum/Kawhi like wing. That's when we have to see how good his 1st step, ballhandling and ability to create are.

But his passing and improved shooting look legit which is why I give him a high floor/worst case scenario.

How many Duke games have you watched last season?

Watched plenty. The guy played the 4. He was a college big. A versatile one at that, but he'll be matching up with NBA wings, not bigs.

Flagg had 216 possessions as the pick and roll ball handler in college, and he was GOOD at it (90th percentile). Did AD have even one possession of this type at Kentucky? His most common offensive comp was Tyson Chandler lol

He averaged more assists per game than Cade Cunningham did in his freshman year, with half the turnovers. Cade was third in the NBA in apg this year.

Weird take.

AD basically hung out in the dunker spot that season, I don't believe he ever handled the ball.

I see him as a mix between Banchero and Franz offensively. Defensive wise, he's a monster and probably only behind AD and Wemby in terms of defensive upside that I can remember coming out of college.

He will be a guy who checks every box but probably won't be a dominant scorer. But that doesn't mean he won't live up to the hype.

Cooper Flagg: 'Blessing' not having to be Mavericks' centerpiece

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/45598056/cooper-flagg-blessing-not-having-mavericks-centerpiece

He's the centerpiece. If he's fooling himself, he's not fooling anybody else.
