Right, it's teams not being willing to keep paying the penalties that breaks up teams; and if you're going to let players go because of the tax penalty (say Ty Jerome) you'd better have some viable options in the pipeline (Ball, Porter Jr, Green, Proctor) or you could be in for a world of hurt.

Tristan Kardashian was signed to spot 14 in September the last 2 years, so maybe they do that again or circumvent the CBA and just roll into the season with 2 open roster spots and look to fill spot 14 two weeks into the season.

Why's that? Maybe Jerome's poor performance against Indiana was a fluke, but he sure looked to be exposed as someone who is not quick enough to break down a defense on his own, and someone who will always needs screens and whatnot to be effective.

We'll see what Jerome signs for on Monday, the AAV may end up being more than what Merrill just got.
