Two WCFs in a row when pretty much no one predicted it either season say hi.

Wolves turn out better than people think.

We’re going to continue to get chances to win championships and that’s all you can ask for.

Randle/Dillingham for an upgrade at PG seems like next move.

I mean, I think they hope that Dillingham with another year in the league developing is the upgrade at PG? Like, why would you give up on a top 10 pick after 1 year exactly? It’s not like he showed he was unplayable either.

Not sure I like Reid’s archetype/playing style as one of the core pieces for a title team, and this contract kind of commits them to him on that. I don’t think the value is bad, but feels like it sets up for him to be the kind of guy you have to make the tough call to trade eventually for something a little more suited to being a core piece.

Dillingham's speed is on De'Aaron Fox's level coming into the league. The second the Wolves figure out how to harness it, the sooner it opens up their offense. They will need to make sure he can handle his own on the defensive end, a La Mike Conley.

Iron is hot for a team in back to back WCF. Randle/Dillingham are only assets at hand to upgrade a win-it-all team.

Naz Reid shot .397 from the three-pointer line in this year's playoffs, and 4.2 attempts per game!
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is supposed to be the MVP but only shot .283 in the playoffs...
So when your back-up plays great defense AND shoots way better than MVP in the playoffs you better pay him gigantically.

For example…

To 76ers: Randle/Bridges

To Hornets: Dillingham/George (buyout?)/rights to Beringer/3x 76ers 1st round picks (including LAC)

To Wolves: Melo Ball

Wolves all in on Ball with Edwards backcourt being better and good enough to play for a chip.

Gobert
Reid
McDaniels
Edwards
Ball

Agreed he was the #1 player thats somewhat realistic that I'd want on the Wolves.

I think a decent offer for him would be Divincenzo,Dillingham and a future 1st Round Pick.

Would give the Celtics a cheap player with a ton of versatility coming off the bench in Divincenzo and Dillingham who got next to no run his rookie season a young still promising PG of the future.

Wolves can’t trade a 1st. Only swaps available.

I like White, just not enough to make an all-in move like that for him.

Naz didn't have a very good series against the Thunder, but historically, he's been a Thunder (and Mavs) killer. I love this signing for the roster, but I love it even more because it indicates that the TWolves are finally willing to spend some money on the team. Surround Ant with talent and there's no ceiling for this team.

He's going to become the starting PF once Randle is gone, so maybe after next season if Randle opts in.

Congrats! It feels great when you re-sign one of your guys at a deal that feels fair to the player and good for the team, like both sides are being rewarded and want to stick together.

What exactly do people want competitive small-market teams to do? Minnesota, with its cold weather and market size, is never going to be a free-agent destination. The Timberwolves would be fortunate to replace a player of Reid’s caliber with their existing draft picks, too. Not to mention, losing valuable players off their contending team could upset their young star, Anthony Edwards, who they cannot afford to lose.

He's better than OO. OO is an undersized center that can't shoot

To be fair though Onyeka is a better defender even though he is a bit smaller of a center he is like Bam in the aspect of both of them are very strong for their size and don't get pushed around often. Allowing for pretty good defense although Bam is the better of the 2 at that for sure. But still King Kongwu is still quite good on defense most years.

That's the second party nobody is bring up, If the Wolves can't land a legit co star to Edwards and things go south we have two great pieces in McDaniels & Reid we could easily trade to nab a top end star. Will end up with more picks as well in any deals we might make when moving on from Gobert & Randle as well.

This is extremely smart team build by Tim Connelly and the new owners in A-Rod & Lore. You keep the core together in a team that just made back to back Western finals and also if things don't work out have a fall back plan to get your right back in the mix.

No they wouldn't, because if they had the available cap space they wouldn't have their actual stars. Nobody's signing Naz Reid to a giant deal as a foundational building block of their franchise.
