Ainge drafted Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum in back-to-back drafts. Boston has been a perennial contender since those two developed. Now the Ainges are trying to repeat this by tanking a couple of seasons. They'll add another high pick to Ace Bailey this year, then they'll look to start ascending. The good news for the Jazz is that these drafts they're tanking for are very good ones.

It doesn’t take a lot of skill to hit on top 3 picks though.

Jazz have been horrible for three years now. They’ve actually managed to get worse.

The problem is they are years away because Ainge has failed miserably in the draft. He’s drafted zero rotation players in three years. lol.

Jazz have only been horrible for one season, last season. Otherwise, they were just bad, drafting at #9 and #10 in the previous two drafts. Also, the 2024 draft was a weak draft. It might not yield more than one or two All Stars, if that. The Jazz are going bottom fishing in '25 and '26, which should give them a decent foundation.

You can argue that the Jazz took too long to tear down their old team by looking for good returns on all of their players. At this point, they're giving the last few guys away to clear the roster.

FWIW, Keyonte George, Taylor Hendricks, Brice Sensabaugh, Kyle Filipowski and Isaiah Collier are all rotation players. Cody Williams might be, but he's got a ways to go.

Those players are not rotation guys on good teams. They are all basically one way players. George statistically rates out as the worst defensive player in the entire league the past 2 years. Sensabaugh another who doesn't appear physically capable to defend and also not a passer. Flip is promising on the offensive end but another who isn't physical enough to defend. Collier might have promise but at this point can't shoot. Cody can only go up because he's the worst player I have ever seen in an NBA uniform including G League guys.

This is Joe Dumars erasure.
